As the lunch break bell rang, rather than racing to the cafeteria with the other students, you were smart enough to stay behind and take your time gathering your stuff. It was always entertaining for you to watch other students desperately shoving and flicking each other--acting like fools--as if they'll run out of food if they don't reach the cafeteria on time. Well, maybe that's actually the case, so good thing you always have your lunch packed all the time. You just chuckled and shook your head as you started walking towards the lockers to get your lunchbox, and also to drop off some of your books.

As you turned to the hallway where the lockers are located, you glanced down at your watch. You still had enough time. The cafeteria is always packed with students so you just eat in the classroom. It takes more time walking back and forth just to drop off the lunch box, but it's a lot more peaceful and you prefer it that way. But as you looked up from your watch, the peace you felt immediately disappeared.

The hallway was suspiciously void of students except for a figure leaning against the wall just beside the lockers. Even at this distance, you already knew that figure all too well. And you knew it was not a coincidence that he was there.

In fact, you knew he was there for someone.

Someone, meaning you.

You took a deep breath and planned to just ignore him, because if you turn back now that means you won't be able to get your lunch. And we all know food is top priority.

Keep your head together. Pretend he doesn't exist.

You repeated on and on inside your head just so you could block out the irking feeling of his eyes boring into you. Once you reached your locker, you calmly opened it and was thankful that your locker door blocked your sight of him even just for a moment.

But before you could even finish placing your books inside, out of nowhere your locker door was slammed shut, a hand grabbed your shoulder, whipped you around, then slammed you against the locker.

It all happened so fast that you can only stare, eyes wide, at the person in front of you.

Jin.

Kim Seokjin.

"How long did you think you can ignore me, _______?" He asked with a small playful smirk on his lips, but you could definitely see the anger in his eyes. And you knew exactly why.

It's already been a week ago when he started to flirt with you out of nowhere. You know, the typical flirty jokes and gestures guys would do to hit on girls. He was undeniably handsome, yes (in fact so many girls are drooling over him) but you were just not the type to play these little love games. You had so many other things to worry about.

Like food, for example.

"You know you can't deny me forever, right? We both know in the end, you'll still fall for me." He inched a bit closer, and his gaze was so intense you thought it could actually nail your head to your locker door.

"Please, Jin. Back off." You said in the most polite way possible, plus a hand gesture that clearly says "please back off or else I'll break your neck."

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to get the message and instead attempted to hold your hand that was hovering above his chest. Though, you quickly withrew your hand to avoid his. You took a deep breath to keep yourself calm.

"Jin, I understand what's going on here. You're a heartthrob--I'm aware of that yes--and you're not used to getting rejected. So you keep on pursuing me because you think I'm just playing hard to get and will eventually say yes. But I already told you, I'm not really interested."

You tried to shake his hand off your shoulder to leave but instead, his hold on you only tightened.

"You're not interested in me?"

"Generally I just don't want to involve myself with playboys."

There was a brief moment of silence as you just seemed to have an intense stare off. He didn't say anything as if letting your statement swirl around him for a bit, pondering about what he should do with it. You couldn't even tell what was on his mind.

Then out of nowhere, he grabbed your hand and started dragging you somewhere.

"Yah, where are you taking me?!"

You asked and continued attempting to free your hand from his, but he never spoke or even turned to look at you. He was simply dragging you like he had the right to do so.

Much to your confusion, he led the two of you to the cafeteria that was packed with students and walked straight to the a table for two on one corner. There was a pair of students already sitting there, but even without much of a word from Jin, they immediately stood up and left. Even the students from the nearby tables also left in fear.

This wasn't much of a surprise to you because Jin is a member of BTS, the group that rules this school, so naturally the other students are afraid of him.

Anyway, Jin forced you to sit and he took the other right in front of you.

"What is this?" You questioned.

"A lunch date," he shrugged and smiled innocently. "It's kind of crappy, I know, but I'll make sure to do better next time."

You stared at him in disbelief, then let out an exasperated sigh as you rubbed your temples.

"Jin, I already told you--"

"I'm trying to prove to you that I'm serious." He cut you off. Gone was the playboy smile and mischievous sparkle in his eyes, and replaced by a dead serious expression. "I'm not playing games anymore, _______. I'm pursuing you because I want you. Because I like you."

All of a sudden, it felt like the room suddenly turned hot. It became harder to breathe. Your eyes flickered between Jin's eyes, desperately trying to find a hint of a lie or a joke. But there was none. All there was in his eyes were seriousness and... pleading?

"Please, stop ignoring me and just give me a chance. I was a playboy, I admit that, but you..." His gaze softened as he reached out to touch your hand. "...you're my karma. And you're the karma I don't want to let go of. If you want me to bring you flowers, serenade you, dance for you and take you to lunch dates, I'll do it. I'm willing to turn my world upside down. I'm willing to change for you."

You stared at his hand that was holding yours, afraid that if you look in his eyes any longer you'll only get even more confused.

Because deep inside, you knew that his words were starting to sway you. And that really wasn't what you expected.

"I..." you mumbled as you withrew your hand from his. And even though you weren't looking at him, you still felt pain flash across him.

"... I actually prefer packed lunch..."

You timidly glanced at Jin, only to see his face turn from gloomy to excited real quick. Out of impulse, he grabbed both your hands and kissed them so many times he could.

"Even better. I can cook for you."

He smiled, and surprisingly, it made your stone cold heart feel like it could beat again.
