Sage: (Takes a deep breath) Jasmine...thank you. (He takes out an ampharosite and puts it around her neck, he tears up a little) I really couldn't have asked...for a better partner...(He drops her into the hole carefully and buries her body then stands up and wipes away his tears.) Now then...I think I have somewhere I need to be...
Scene 2
Cardamom is sitting behind
A tree, looking look at the
Soil. Her eyes look like she
Has been crying for awhile.
Cardamom:...Licorice....
Sage: (Lands in the tree above her) Hey.
Cardamom: Wah! (Turns towards Sage)
Sage: (Chuckles) Sorry, don't mean to startle you. (Jumps down next to her) You wanna talk?
Cardamom:...No...not really...
Sage: Ah...that's right...Licorice was your first partner...huh... (Smiles) I guess...it must be hard for you right now...I can come talk later if you like.
Cardamom: (Mumbles) How can you be so calm....
Sage: Hm?
Cardamom: (Crying) HOW CAN YOU BE SO CALM AFTER YOU SAW JASMINE DIE! IT....IT WAS MY FAULT! SO WHY AREN'T YOU MAD!
Sage: (Sighs)...Caraway...Safflower...Thistle...Tumeric....Jasmine.
Cardamom:...What are those? Spices?
Sage: They are...my previous partners...(Takes a deep breath) Listen...throughout my journey with April I have experienced many feelings....Love at first sight, Worry, unconditional feelings, frustration....and...it's all wrapped up in this thing called happiness...you know why?
Cardamom:...No...Why?
Sage: Because...each of those girls stayed with me through the grieving process and opened my heart up each and every time. They made me smile, laugh, celebrate...sad...frustrated...angry...(Chuckles, he tears up slightly) All 5 of them...staying by my side....trying to keep a dumb frog like me happy! It sounded like a joke at first!
Cardamom: Y-You...don't really believe that do you?
Sage: (Smiles sweetly) Of course not. You know why? Each one of them...warmed my heart...they looked past my depressing my demeanor...and waited for me...no matter how hopeless it seemed at first....ah...
Cardamom: Aren't you sad? Don't you miss Jasmine at all?
Sage: (Smiles, though his eyes are watering up) There...isn't a minute of my day I don't miss any of my partners...you never really come to terms with death...you just...get used to them not being around anymore...but they are still there...(Touches Cardamom's heart) They are always there...in your heart. Every memory you feel...every step that you take..
Cardamom: (Bursts out crying, hugs Sage) I miss him...my heart wants to explode!
Sage: (Nods, pats Cardamom on the head, concealing his own tears) I know...but, let's get through it together...
