Sage is sitting on
The edge of a random
Cliff, his face full
Of melancholy.
Sage: (Looks out into the sunset and sighs)...
Tarragon: (Walks up behind Sage) Hey. (Sits next to him) You alright bro?
Sage: Yeah...I'm just...a little shaken up...
(Cuts to a flashback)
Furfou: (Uses headbutt on Safflower)
Safflower: (Gets knocked back and falls to the ground)
Sage: Safflower? Hey, Safflower? (Hops up to Safflower and nudges her slightly) G-Get up...this isn't the time for a nap...
Safflower: (Looks up at Sage) Sage...Thank you...for staying...with someone like me...
Sage: (Starts crying) Safflower, please don't joke with me...Y-You can't you have to-
Safflower: (Smiles) I love you...I'm sorry...for being a burden...(The light fades from her eyes)
Sage: (Distraught) Safflower....SAFFLOWER!!!!
(It fades white back to Tarragon and Sage)
Sage: (Looking down) First Caraway...now Safflower...(Starts crying) I couldn't... (Slams his fist to the ground) I DIDN'T PROTECT THEM! IT'S ALL- It's all my fault...
Tarragon: (Pats Sage on the back) It wasn't your fault. There was no way, you could've saved her. You'll find a new partner soon.
Sage: (Looks at Tarragon) Why...are you so nice to me...IF I HAD JUST PROTECTED SAFFLOWER YOU COULD'VE FINALLY-
Tarragon: (Smiles) It's alright. If I was meant to have a partner at this point in time, I would've found her. I'm okay with being alone for now. (Nods his head over at Thistle who was listening in the bushes) Go on, she's waiting for you.
Sage: (Wipes his tears away) Thanks...Tarragon...(Starts to walk away)
Tarragon: (Closes his eyes) Anytime Sage.
(The ghosts of Safflower and Caraway appear, watching over Sage and smiling)
