I dropped the squirrel.

"Did I do something wrong?" I questioned.

"H-how in the name of StarClan did you do that?!?" Lionblaze exclaimed.

"Uh, I jumped?" I suggested.

"Flamepaw, that was a huge jump! Lionblaze couldn't have done it!" Cinderheart meowed.

"What! Lionblaze can do anything! He can't be hurt in bat-" I brooke off abruptly as I realised that I had said too much.

Lionblaze narrowed his eyes. "How do you know about that? Not even the whole Clan knows it."

"I, uh," I glanced at Skypaw for help.

"We heard rumours about you while we were travelling. We had to travel through the mountains, and that's where we learned more about you. We were told that you were so good in battle, that you didn't even get a scratch. We just kinda assumed that you can't." Skypaw shrugged. "Is that true then?"

Lionblaze hesitated, then replied. "Yes. I can't be hurt in battle. But, that was an amazing catch Flamepaw! The squirrel is nearly as big as you!"

I puffed out my chest proudly. "Please may I put it on the fresh-kill pile?"

"Of course. Your first catch as a ThunderClan apprentice, and it is an extremely good one." Cinderheart purred.

Skypaw nudged me. "I bet you I can beat that next time we go hunting."

I snorted. "I'd like to see you try!" We kept bickering about it all the way to camp. By the time we reached the gorse tunnel my neck and jaw was sore from carrying the squirrel. StarClan, the thing was heavy! I managed to drag across to the fresh-kill pile and placed it at the top. Bramblestar, Squirrrelflight and some other senior warriors were sharing tounges nearby. Squirrelflight glanced up as I dropped the squirrel.

"Great StarClan, Flamepaw! Did you catch that?" She exclaimed. That, of course, drew the attention of all the other warriors.

I nodded shyly.

"It was an impressive catch. The wind changed direction and it started to scamper up the Great Oak, but Flamepaw did a massive leap and pulled it down. She can really jump." Lionnblaze said, coming up behind me.

"That was your first catch wasn't it?" Dustpelt questioned.

"Well, it was my first squirrel. When we lived rogue we normally hunted mice and voles. Sometimes Skypaw caught a rabbit, she's really fast. I can catch birds to. I've always been able to jump." I dipped my head.

"Well, I have a feeling that you two are going to soome of the Clan's best hunters." Bramblestar replied warmly.

I glanced down at my paws, feeling hot. I wonder if I can still blush now that I'm a cat? But you can't see it 'cos of the fur.

Squirrelflight opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by a shriek of fear. "No! Redkit!"

It was Daisy, one of the queens. She had a new litter that was nearly ready to be apprenticed, Redkit and Sunkit.

My head snapped up and I was frozen in horror as a massive hawk swooped down and grabbed Redkit with its claws.

Skypaw immediately raced after the hawk with me hard on her paws. She jumped for it, but missed. The hawk was quite high by now, but I had a feeling I could jump that high. My hind legs tensed and I leapt in the air. Time seemed to slow down. I heard gasps from the cats below, but I ignored them.

My front claws snagged the hawk's wing, and it tumbled down. I slashed at it's legs, and the bird released Redkit, whom was caught by Skypaw as he plummeted downwards. I was still hanging onto the hawk's wing. It struggled to fly, but I was too heavy. I risked taking one claw off it's wing, and sliced it's throat. It let out a strangled cry, and we both fell down onto the ground, the hawk dead.

I stumbled as I hit the ground, twisting my paw. Skypaw was standing next to me, and I leaned on her, my injured paw not able to take any weight.

I looked up to see the entire Clan staring wide-eyed at us. Daisy was the first one to speak.

"You saved my kit!" She shrieked and immediately started to smother us in licks.

"Thank you. I owe you." She said softly to us.

My fur burned in embarrassement. Well this was awkward.

"We just did it instinctively. We've fought hawks before, they attacked us when we were younger, thinking we were easy prey. It was nothing." I mumbled. I honestly didn't know how I had done that. I mean sure, when I was a human, I always aced the high jump in athletics, but I couldn't really jump that high. And I didn't have time to think about what the books say about fighting off hawks.

"Nothing! Fighting off a massive hawk, killing it, and saving a Clanmate, is nothing?!?" Lionblaze exclaimed. "You two are way to modest."

No one spoke for a while.

"Well," Bramblestar said at last. "I guess we made the right choice in making the two of you memebers of ThunderClan. Now, Flamepaw, you need to go see Jayfeather about that paw. Cinderheart will show you."

Cinderheart flicked her tail for us to follow her, and Skypaw helped me limp over to the medicine den.

"Jayfeather?" Cinderheart called.

"I'm guessing you want me to look at Flamepaw's paw? I heard the whole thing. That must've been quite a jump. The hawk was far up when you leaped." Jayfeather came out of the shadows.

I studied him curiously. He look just like the books said. Gray fur, sightless blue eyes. And he could walk in other cats dreams. I hope he doesn't walk in any of mine.

"Finished looking?" Jayfeather snapped. Skypaw and I both jumped.

"Yes, sorry Jayfeather." We replied in unison. We always did that. Best friend creepyness.

"Cinderheart, you can go now." Jayfeather flicked his tail, and the she-cat backed out of the den.

"So, you've finally come." Jayfeather murmured, circling us.

"Uh, we've what?" I asked, confused.

"You don't know, do you?" Jayfeather turned to face us.

"We don't know what?" Skypaw said slowly.

Jayfeather went stiff, and his eyes glowed eerily.

"By the roaring flames and the bright blue sky,

The dark is lit

And the light is quit.

Two take a quest,

A single choice,

An oath to keep with a final breath."

Jayfeather went back to normal. I exchanged glances with Skypaw. I wanted to talk to her, but not in front of Jayfeather.

"Now," he said briskly. "Where were we? Show me your paw."

After Jayfeaher treated my paw, we grabbed a shrew and a vole from the fresh-kill pile and went to our den.

"So, what do you think happened?" Skypaw asked me.

"I think," I said slowly, "that that was a prophecy Jayfeather said. A prophecy that includes us somehow. Roaring flames and bright blue sky? I'm Flamepaw, you're Skypaw. Jayfeather said it himself. We've finally come."

"I wonder what it means though." Skypaw muttered.

"You wonder what what means?" Cherrypaw popped her head through the entrance of the den. We both froze.

"Uhh.."

A/N I know that the prophecy sucks like hell. I'm absolutely rubbish at making that kinda stuff up. Sorry. Yes, I know that the last line is from Percy Jackson. I was stuck, so I just stole it. Sorry again!
