Johnny's Flower

Chapter 1: The Beginning!
I ran into the waiting room yelling " DID HE DIE? With wet drops running down my face, my heart beating out of my chest.
One month earlier......
Ponyboy and I were walking home from school. (We're the only greasers that like school.) We come to the DX gas station, that Sodapop was working at.
¨Hey Pony and Daisy..... What's up?" Soda said
"Nothing just walking home from school." I told him.
" Okay see you at home. Hey Daisy, all the greasers are comin' over tonight, Darry wants to have a supper party." Soda explained, We started to walk back.
"Shit I'll meet you at my house, I have to tell Soda something." Pony said
"Okay" I said confused.
I was walking back to the Curtis house when all of a sudden a bunch of drunk socs came up in their stupid mustang.
"Hey what's a HOT greaser doing alone on the streets?" Bob said.
"Hey this is our side of town." I said walking away.
"HEY GET BACK HERE!" Randy yelled.
"Make me!" I yelled having my back to them.
All of a sudden they pull over, and got out of the car.
"You're coming with us." Randy told me.
When he swung to grab me I ducked. He turned me around and punched me right in the eye.
I run as fast I can when I could.
I finally get to the Curtis's house, I walked in and yelled
"Hey Darry you here?"
"Ya Daisy in here." I heard coming from the kitchen
I walk into the kitchen.
"Hey what the hell happened to your eye?"
"I got punched by.. Um by that Adderson dude. Uhh what's his name. Randy?"
"Here put some ice on that."
"Hey Daisy you here?" I heard coming from the living room
"In the kitchen!" I yelled so they can here me.
The guys walk in and it's Johnny and Two-Bit.
"Hey what happened to your eye?" Johnny asked walking into the kitchen.
"What do you think, It was that stupid Randy dude." I explained
I seen Two-Bit get really mad. His face was getting red. Two-Bit just stormed out of the room. All of a sudden We hear the door slam.
"TWO-BIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I yelled running out of the room
"What do you think I'm doing, I'm betting them all up."
"Just leave it alone. I'm fine"
"Daisy your eye is black.! I'm going to do something about it. No one beats up my little sister."
"Fine."
I go inside mad but not mad. I mean I'm happy that they're going to pay for what they did to me. But I don't like how they have to fight.
"Hey Johnny weren't you going to ask Daisy something? I think it's a good time to do it now. Take her out." Pony said coming from the bathroom
"Shut up." Johnny said blushing "Anyway so I was going to ask you tonight if you wanted to go see a movie... But I guess Pony beat me to it. So do you?" Johnny asked
"Sure I'll ask Two-Bit."
"I already asked and he's fine with it...."
Me and Johnny went to the movie house. It wasn't that bad. Johnny can for sure get your mind off of things. Well he did to my mind, Maybe because he's REALLY damn cute, or he's really damn good at it or both.
"We better get back before Two-Bit gets mad."
"Ya I guess so." I told him trying not to be sad. " You know Johnny you're a great friend. I could talk to you about anything."
Johnny didn't say anything. I could tell he was blushing, It didn't matter how much he tried to hide away.
" Thanks again Johnny, You really got my mind off of things. You know that, You can get people's, minds off of things."
" Daisy I have a question. Um You are my best friend. I mean We knew each other for almost 10 years now. And I was wondering if maybe you no, do you wanna be my girlfriend. If you want."
"YES I mean sure." I told him trying to act all cool. I couldn't believe that Johnny my crush asked me out. I think we have something between us.
"Cool. Okay then."
We were walking home from the movie house, When all of a sudden There was a bunch of socs in their Mustangs. (The ones that punched me in the eye.)
"What do yous want?" I asked them
"What do you think we want, We want you."
"Well you're not getting me. I love being a greaser and I'm taken so yous can get lost now."
"With this loser?"
"Lets go" Johnny told me. "Before we get into a fight."
We started to walk back. The socs were following us. After a minute we started to run, faster and faster. We finally get back to Ponyboy's. Everyone was there. Even Two-Bit. Two-Bit seemed to be calmed down.
"How was tonight?" Soda asked
"Okay." I told him looking at the Johnny letting out a tiny smile. Trying not to blush.
"Oh ya the same Socs that beat me up were trying to get me to get in the car. I didn't they don't even have a chance." I said laughing a little. I heard a giggle from everyone.
"Good, Hey daisy you wanna go home, its getting pretty late?" Two-bit asked.
"Ya. Night everyone."
I went to bed and all I could think was what happened today. Am I really dating my crush since I was 8. (I am know 15.) I finally fell asleep. The next day Johnny walked home with me and Ponyboy.
"Are yous like dating or something?" Pony asked
"You can't tell people not yet anyway."Johnny told him
Okay maybe I somewhat wanted the group to know but oh well.
"I'm happy for yous!." Pony told us.
We were walking home, Me and Johnny were holding hands because Pony already knew. So it wasn't that bad. A couple days go by Johnny would always meet us at school to walk home with us. It was normal, the best. One night when we were walking back me and Johnny finally thought that we should tell everyone. We told everyone to meet us at Ponyboy's because they have the biggest house out of us all. We finally got there. Everyone was there.
"Hey guys we kinda need to tell you something. Me and Johnny are kinda dating." I told them
Everyone looked happy. Even Two-Bit. Who knew that Two-Bit would be okay with his little sister dating. Well his face seemed to be okay. I don't know what he's going to say to me tonight. Which is kinda scary.
"Nice." I heard from Darry coming from the kitchen.
After a couple of hours Two-Bit and I went home. As soon as we got home I just went to bed because I'm tired and had a LONG day.
"I'm going to bed, I'm tired I had a LONG day at school today, I had gym till noon!"
"First, When did yous start dating?"
I didn't want to tell him a couple days ago, so I told him today.
"Today when we were coming back from school."
I don't know why I told him today. Maybe because i was scared that he would get mad. I mean we tell each other everything.
"Fine go to bed. You going to school tomorrow?"
"Ya." After I said ya I went to bed. I thought I was tired but I can't fall asleep. All I could think about was Johnny. Johnny and me. I finally fell asleep. A couple more days go by. It was an awesome couple day. A couple days before my 16 birthday. I told everyone that I don't want a huge party. Me and Johnny were walking to the DX gas station to see Soda. When the some socs came up to us. All I could think to myself was Oh Shit, Oh shit, Oh shit. There going to jump us.
"Whats a brod doing with a greaser?" A soc said coming from inside the red mustang.
"Go away, This is our territory." I said
"Why don't you pretty lady come with us?"
"No Why would I go in a car with a bunch of drunks?"
"Get in the car!"
"No"
They pulled over and all got out of the car. There was that Randy dude and that Bob dude.
"We said get in the car!"
"I said no" BEING SCARED TO DEATH! Pulling out my switch blade.
We were running by then. We finally got to the DX gas station. I looked behind me and seen them pulling over. We ran inside.
"Soda you here? We need help. There's a bunch of socs following us. And we forgot our switchblade" Johnny said.
"Holy shit what did I tell yous. Always have your switchblades on you." Soda said looking outside. "I'll go outside to see if it's safe, When i tell you to run back to my place." Soda goes outside. After A couple of minutes we hear a gunshot! A couple seconds go by and im crying. Just thinking Did Soda really get shot or was it a soc. I finally greaser up and go outside. I find Soda laying their on the cold payment. With blood around his shoulder.
"SODA!" I said yelling out loud. Johnny finally comes outside, Almost crying,
"Uhhhh, I'll go in and call Two-bit."
A couple minutes later Johnny came back out of the gas station.
"He's on his way. He asked if you were okay."
I didn't say anything. All I could think is What if I had my switchblade out earlier. Maybe soda wouldn't of been shot. Two-Bit finally arrived.
"Get him in the car." I told them. "I'll sit in the back with Soda."
We get to the hospital. I run in.
"HELP HELP HELP MY BEST FRIEND GOT SHOT!"
A bunch of doctors came out. Saying a bunch of doctor things. And that's where Two-Bit, Johnny, Me and a bunch of greasers are waiting there waiting for Soda to get out of Surgery. All I could think was It's my fault, It's my fault, It's all my fault. Johnny was talking to Two-Bit about what happened. I mean who couldn't, I'm crying. All they wanted was to take care of me. Johnny comes back and sits right beside me.
"Don't worry Soda's going to be okay." Johnny told me. "He should be out of surgery any time now."
I hope so I thought.
"Whats wrong?"
"What if I didn't let Soda go outside. He wouldn't of been shot."
The doctor came out
"Is there a Daisy Mathews and a Johnny Cade here?" The doctor asked
"Ya." I said Getting off my chair.
"Soda wants to see you's."
The doctor led us to the room Soda's in. It was a half decent room.
"Daisy?" Soda said quietly
"Soda I'm here. Dont worry me and Johnny are both here." I said almost crying.
"John-nnn-yy?"
"Ya!"
"Keep her safe. Well i'm in here" Soda said slowly stop in the middle of the words. "Now go get some rest" He told us
I don't know how I can get any sleep one of my best friends got shot. But I know I cant cry in front of him because I just couldn't.
"Hey you do know that you can cry, It's okay to cry." Johnny told me Pulling me closer to hug him. I started to cry. I couldn't help myself. I told Two-Bit what Soda told me. After a couple minutes the doctor told Darry that Soda can go home in a couple days, if he gets any worse then hell have to stay another day. We go home, I fall asleep in Darry's car, driving us home. Two-Bit carried me inside, Well that's what he told me. (I was still asleep.) The next morning I woke up to the sounds of Mickey Mouse on T.V. I go down stairs to find Two-Bit sitting on the couch Dressed.
"Hey, Happy birthday sis.you should get dressed we're going over to Pony's The gang wants to see you. I think they said something about Soda coming home today."
"Okay? But I thought he wasn't coming home till tomorrow?" I said confused.
"Just get dressed."
I got dressed into my white tank top, My leather jacket and my blue jeans. And we started to walk down the street. A couple minutes later we finally got there.
"Hey Daisy guess what, They called and told me that Soda can come home today. Do you wanna come with me to get him?" Darry asked
"Ya, sure." I said.
"Okay we're leaving at noon, you want some cake?" Darry asked
"Sure" I told him going into the kitchen.
I got some cake. And ate it fast cause it was already quarter to 12.
"Hey daisy get in the car. Were getting Soda now." Darry told me. "Hey Johnny you wanna come with us?"
"Sure." We all got in the car. And started to go to pick up Soda. We get there and Soda has the BIGGEST smile on his face.
"Hey it's the birthday girl, Johnny and Darry."
"Hey it's not about me today it's about you."
"No it's your birthday we'll celebrate me tomorrow."
I didn't argue with him. You know. You have to do what the guy whose hurt wants. We get him in the car, and on our way back.
"So what happened when I was gone?"
"Nothing." I told him. All I thought was Why did he pick me to go get Soda and not Pony? Now what are they doing. We get back and Soda and Darry went inside first. Johnny had to tell me something.
"Hey Daisy tonight I'm taking you out. I don't care what you say I'm taking you out."
"Okay."
I walked in and There's a homemade banner that says "Happy Birthday Daisy." With a chocolate cake. Two-Bit didn't even put on Mickey-Mouse and it was on. Imagine that. I never knew that I was loved as much as I did today. Johnny came over and asked
"Hey Daisy were going out tonight. No matter what you say."
