Chapter 3

Chapter 3:
It was a couple days till homecoming. Johnny and I decided that we're not going full out. I mean we're not dressing up. Just going in our everyday clothing. (Im saving my money for my prom.) It was 2 days till homecoming. We were eating lunch in the cafe when Ashton came over to our table.
"Hey babe, you wanna go to homecoming with me?" He asked
"Holy shit, Dont call me babe and I'm going to homecoming with Johnny." I told him off.
"You're going with that dork?" Ashton asked.
"Yes i'm going with that dork. I love that dork." I told him getting up and walking away. After that the day went by fast. We all meet up at the road (Like normal.) and started to walk home.
"Johnny." I heard coming from behind us.
I looked behind me and it was Katie.
"Here I wanna give this to you." Katie told Johnny putting a note in his pocket. And walked away.
"So are you going to open it?" I asked him.
"Here do you wanna open it?" Johnny asked me and giving it to me.
It says:
Johnny. Are you going to homecoming. If you are would you go with me? Circle yes or no.
I read the whole note out loud getting mad around the homecoming.
"Oh ya Daisy I have to ask you something." Johnny telling me
"Will you go to homecoming with me?" Johnny asked.
"Well I'll have to think about it. I said laughing "Yes I will go to homecoming with you." I finished
We get back to Pony's. Two-Bit was there. We go inside.
"Hey Daisy. What you wearing to homecoming? Soda asked kinda laughing.
"I'm wearing my normal clothing. I dont have the money to get anything fancy." I explained to everyone AGAIN. A couple hours go by and me and Two-Bit were getting ready to go home.
"Daisy 6 pm. Deal." Johnny said smiling coming to give me a hug.
"I hope yous have fun tomorrow." Pony said
"What your not coming, You have to." Johnny said.
"I don't have a date plus dances aren't really my thing." Pony said
"Johnny isn't either but he's going." I told him laughing "We really want you there. It's not really fun without you. I mean we're a squad."
"FINE!" Pony said.
Me and Johnny just look at each other and smiled.
"Okay see yous in tomorrow. I said
"I'll be out in a minute." Two-Bit told me. I don't know what was going on. Two-Bit finally came out. We were walking home.
"You don't really think your going to your first homecoming in your normal clothing, Do you?" Two-Bit asked.
"Well ya. I don't have any money." I said trying not to be sad
"No you're not, Here's 20. 10 for your dress and 10 for Johnny's suit." Two-Bit said.
"What about Pony?" I asked
"He's wearing Sodas old suit."
"So how did you get the money?" I asked
"Soda, Steve, Darry and me all pitched in.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" I told him giving him a hug.
We got home and went to bed. The next morning I wake up. It's about 10. It was weird Mickey mouse wasn't on? Normally I wake up to mickey mouse. I go downstairs to find Johnny sitting on the couch.
"Hey we're going shopping." Johnny told me.
"Okay." I said
We walked down the street to find a little dress shop. We go in. It was FULL of dresses, green dresses, Short dresses, long dresses, black dresses. I tried most of the black dresses. I looked like a potato in all but 1. It was a black dress that goes down to my knees. It's black, with buttons going down most of the way down. I walk out of the change room.
"So how do you like it?" I asked Johnny
"I I'm speechless." Johnny told me.
"Do I really look that good?" I asked
"Yes do you like it?" He asked me
"Ya I do." I said smiling.
"Then that's the one you're getting." He told me.
I changed into my normal clothing. We went up to the cash and bought it. Then went and got Johnny's suit. It looked like a normal suit. We get back to the house and I put my dress in my room. Then we leave to Pony's. (Thats where Two-Bit is.) Johnny's staying there the night.
"Hey you get a dress?" I heard coming from the kitchen, thinking it's Darry. "And thank you so much." I said
"Of course. We would do anything for our Queen." Soda said laughing. We all laughed. We stayed for almost 3 hours after we got back.
"Ready to go?" I asked Two-Bit
"Ya." He said.
"Okay, Johnny, Pony my house 6." I told them Laughing.
"I'll drive you." Darry said.
"Thanks Darry." I said leaving. We walked back home. I went to bed early so I can have the whole day to get ready. I woke up at 10. Got in the shower, and did my hair. I put it up in a loose ponytail at the top of my head, with a black scrunchy. I didn't do my makeup at all. It was way too much for a greaser. It finally became 5:30. I got on my dress and went down stairs.
"Wow." I hear coming from Two-Bits mouth.
"Oh shut up." I told him smiling
"Daisy, Johnny's really lucky to have you. You know that." Two-Bit said
"I know." I said
All of a sudden I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in."I yelled. Running up stairs so I could walk down stairs making them all go WOW! I start walking down the stairs. All I hear is WOW from all 3 of them.
"You look beautiful. You know that."Johnny told me.
"Thanks." I said
"Let's go." Pony said.
We get in the car.
"Johnny you cheating on Daisy with this pretty lady?" Darry said laughing
"Hey, it's still me." I told him. We got there. Pony went ahead in. Johnny and I walked in. Johnny went to go get us drinks when Ashton came up to me.
"Now why would you say no to me and say yes to that guy?" Ashton asked
"Wanna know what Ashton. Johnny's more a boyfriend that you will ever be. He would never cheat. So you can go screw yourself." I yelled.
"Hey Daisy what's going on?" Pony asked
"This stupid person won't leave me alone." I said almost crying getting up and leaving. All I hear coming from Soda is "Dude she's happy can you not leave her alone." I go into the hall and sat there.
"Daisy" I hear coming down the hall. I didn't say anything. All of a sudden Johnny came around the corner.
"Pony told me what happened." Johnny explained
"Why won't he leave me alone?" I asked having a wet drop going down my face.
"It's okay." Johnny said hugging me.
Pony finally found us.
"Why?" I asked resting my head against the wall.
"Because he's a jerk. That's why." Pony telling me.
"You okay?" Johnny asked.
"Ya I will be. Can we go in a dance." I asked getting up.
"Ya." I heard from both.
We walk in and it was a slow song.
"May I have this dance?" Johnny asked.
"Sure." I told him.
Half way throw Johnny told me that I should dance with Pony so he doesn't leave left out. I mean I see where he's coming from. I was walking over when all of a sudden Mary (Pony's crush) came up and asked him to dance. I go back over to Johnny and pointed to Pony. We both smiled. After the slow dance Johnny and I kissed. I don't know why but I felt the same way as I did the first time we kissed. I never thought Johnny Cade was a good kisser. After the slow dance Johnny and I went over to Pony.
"So you finally got a dance with Mary. Ah" I said
"Ya." Pony said with a huge smile.
"So do you have a girlfriend?" Johnny asked
"Maybe." Pony said giving out a little giggle.
We were dancing all fine, when all of Katie came over.
"So your dan-" Katie started until I interrupted
" Can you just go away, We're having a good time."
Katie just left. We had a great time. Pony danced with his crush, I danced with Johnny. The only bad that happened tonight was the Ashton thing, but what can you do, the past is the past. It was finally over. We walked home because I needed to walk to get all that junk food out of my system. The walk home wasn't that bad. Ashton or Katie didn't bug us the rest of the night of the walk home. I guess we put them in their place, you know. We finally got back to Pony's. Everyone was there.
"How was tonight?" Two-Bit said
"It was ight. I guess." I said sitting down on the couch still in my dress.
"Hey Two-Bit I'm going home to get change, Be back soon." I told him
I left, I got Dallys switchblade so it can keep me safe. I get home walk in and lock my doors. I go up to my room and get change into my tank top, jean jacket, and jeans. I started to walk back to Pony's when all of a sudden these socs started to follow me. I turned to look and they stopped. They pulled over and got out. One grabbed my arms, while one put a bag over my head.
"HELP, DALLY, SODA, DARRY, ANYONE HELP,HELP,HELP,HELP!" I yelled. They put me in a hot, fuzzy thing, I didn't know what was going on until I realized I was in the trunk. After a good 5 minutes I blacked out. I woke up to find Bob and Randy standing there. I was in a yard. It looked like the other side of town.
"What do yous want from me?" I asked.
"We want you." Randy said stroking my arm.
"GET AWAY I DON'T LIKE YOU!" I said well punching them in the face. I kicked them in the balls so they would fall down to the ground. They fell down to the ground. I ran as fast as I could. I didn't know where I was. I found our school and ran home from there. I ran into Pony's house. Coughing my throw out of my body.
"Daisy what's wrong?" Johnny asked.
I couldn't talk I went to the kitchen and getting a glass of water. I drank it as under 30 seconds.
"If someone unties me I'll tell you." I said Johnny came over and started to untie me.
"Well I was walking back when all of a sudden Randy tied my arms together behind my back and Bob put a bag over my head.and put me in the trunk." I told them crying.
Johnny came over and gave me a huge hug. I hugged Johnny for a good half an hour crying. Before I calmed down. I didn't know if they were going to shot me or rap me! I was terrified.
All I heard from Two-Bit was saying I'm going to kill them. I wanted to follow him but I froze. I froze on Johnny's shoulder well we were hugging. I finally unfroze and went on the couch.
"Hey Pony can you watch our Queen?" Soda asked.
"Sure." Pony said
Pony and Johnny came and sat down beside me. Two-Bit, Steve, Darry, Dally and Soda all went to go beat them up. Normally I like to watch but this one I couldnt watch. All of a sudden I froze again. I don't know why.
"Hey you look tired, you can have a nap." Soda told me
"Okay" I said laying down. I couldn't fall asleep. Maybe because those stupid Soc's scared me to death. If I fell asleep it would probably be about what just happened. Who knew 2 guys can scare me that much. I mean I can handle Dally and all of them but Bob and Randy scared me. I get up to get a glass of water. I did lose a lot of water today from crying.
