trust and love

chapter 9

We had got up early the next morning. We didn't say much as we gave the girl at the entrance the key and got in his car. I handnt got much sleep that night. Jace had practically slept on top of me and I've been having the same dream since I met these vampires. I like this dream better. My old dream only left me sad and scared. But this dream makes me happy an love.

"Why are you smiling?" Jace asked.

I smiled even more. "Nothing."

"Apparently something is making you smile like a clown."

"Nothing. Just been having a dream lately that I like."

"Oh you say? Am I in it?"

"No."

"Who is in it?"

"My brother. He is sad that I am missing, but it brings great joy to me that he is alive. There is a man there too. I can't see his face no matter how hard I try, I just can't. He wont let me know his name, but he calls me 'my love'."

"That guy could be me you know."

"He sounds nothing like you. Keep dreaming. And he is ten times nicer than you are."

"Whatever. You will never know!"

"I will too. I will continue askng him and when he least expcts it I will turn around and see his face!"

"You sound nuts."

"Your nuts. I never got to finish my questions last night. May I finish?"

"Sure why not."

He kept driving down the interstate. He was decfiantly going over the speed limit. He was passing cars one by one.

"Slow down!" I ordered. "Your going to kill us!"

"Not while I'm around," he mumbled.

"First question. How come you can't feed from animalas?" I asked knowing he wouldn't answer.

"Their blood will poision you. Making you see things and hear things that aren't real." His eyes were distant. Like he wasn't there.

"How do you know?"

"It happened to me. When you turn eighteen, you begin to feel hunger towards blood. J didn't like the idea of drinking from humans, so I tried animal. I did that for years and began seeining things that weren't real. My wife began worrying about me and informed my parents. If I would've cept feeding from the animals it would've been to late and I wouldn't have been sane. Nuts. Sometimes I see things and hear whispers, but not very often."

"I-i'm sorry. I didn't know."

"Its fine."

"Your married?" I said changing the question.

He smiled a little showing his fangs. Hiseyes had become gray slash hazel. "Yes, but the stupid ignorent girl decided she didn't love me anymore three hundred years ago. Hadn't seen her since. Good ridence too."

"Was she pretty?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"Just curious. She could've been ugly for all I know!"

"Yes she was pretty. She had bright yellow eyes. Her hair was short in blonde. She was tall, but not as tall as me. Even when she was wearing heals. She looked like a model."

We pulled off the interestate and onto a dirt road.

"We are already here?" I asked.

"Yeah. I sped here. I'm not a slow person and when I'm behind a slow person, I do not have patients to wait for the person to move."

We pulled into the garage of their castle.

"Hows your arm?" Jace asked before we got out.

I was confused. "My arm? What about it?"

"You were missing a chunkof it yesterday and I juat remembered we never healed it?" He asked confused too.

I lifted my hoodie sleeves to see if I was missing any of it. Both arms looked fine. Then I remembered. In my deam last night, the man had kissed my arm over and over.

"Weird. Its gone," Jace said looking astonished.

"That is weird," I mumbled. "My dream last night was diffrent. The man had kissed my arm over and over. I remember trying to see his face but my arm and his head had been covered by a shadow."

"We shouls talk to my mom about this."

"Octavia! Thank God your fine!" Gale said running to the car.

"Yeah fine. Something like that," I muttered.

"Jace I know your fine so I'm not even going to ask you!" Gale said.

Ashton walked up to Jace's side of the car. "Man I'm so sorry. I should've rode with you instead of Gale. I didn't know this would happen-"

"Its fine," Jace interrupted. He pushed past Ashton and walked into the castle.

"He just needs to cool down Ashton. He will be fine," Gale said.

Ashton nodded but followed after Jace.

"Ashton and Jace are splitting apart. Have been for a few months. He was going to tell Jace after we got back from the hicking trip that he was going to move out of his room and into mine," Gale said helping me out of the car.

"So pretty much they aren't best friends anymore?" I asked

"Yeah pretty much."

My stomach growled really loud. I hadn't eaten since we were in the dungeon and it was only hard bread and water.

Gale laughed. ""Seems your stomach needs some food. Come and I wil ha e our maids fix us an early lunch."

I followed Gale into the castle,but before I did I looked into the forest and saw some movement. Like a flash of a camera. Hmmm.
