"Ocatvia!"

I groaned. "What!"

I heard Jace's wet feet hit the bathroom floor. "I need a towel! Unless you want me to air dry...."

I jumped off the bed. "I will be back!"

I walked to tje entrance room. The girl was there, but she had her tung down some man's throat.

"Excuse me," I interrupted. "I need some blankets and some towels."

She nodded and went into the back room. She came out with some thick blankets and a couple of towls.

"Don't tell my boss," she pleaded. "My mom will kick me out if I lose this job."

"I don't plan on staying to meet your boss," I turned and walked down the side walk. I turned the door to our room then froze. I left my key in the room.

"Jace," I cooed. "Can you open the door?"

Jace laughed. "I'm naked. I don't want anyone to see me."

"That's a bunch of bull! And why are you not still in the bathroom?"

"I got bored. So I am now watching spongebob."

"Spongebob? Really? Please just let me in! Its cold."

"Fine."

He opened the door, but stood behind it at the same time. I walked in and handed him a towel without looking at him.

"Thanks," he mumbled.

"Go get dressed please," I begged.

he ran to the bathroom. He had the towel around his waist showing his back and chest.

I put the blankets on the floor and made a pallet. Jace walked out of the bathroom with a black t-shirt, faded blue jeans, and black Nike's.

"What's that?" He said pointing to the pallet I made.

I threw a pillow down on the pallet. "Your bed."

"Hell no! I am not sleeping on the floor!"

"Vampires sleep?"

"When they are weak, yes. And like humans we prefer a nice comfortable bed."

"Well if it makes you feel any better the bed is hard too."

"Then you wont have a problem sleeping on the floor."

"I wont! I refuse!"

"Then I guess we are sharing."

"I don't like sharing."

"To bad!"

I turned the t.v. off as we both climbed in the bed. I flipped my boots of and took my jacket off. My hair was still a litle wet and was in need of a brush. I got on the right side and just layed there. Jace did the same.

"Jace are you awake?" I asked maybe thirty minutes later.

"I am now. What do you want?" He grummbled.

"Can vampires go into churches?" I asked.

He chuckled. "Playing twenty questions are we?"

I turned over so I was facing his back. "Well can you?"

He turned over too. "Yes. Its a building. No matter how blessed it is. We are beings of the world too."

"Do you believe in God?"

"Of 'course. How do you think we were created?"

"I don't know. How were vampires created?"

"No one knows. Not even us and my great great grandfather was the first. He told me stories of how he was just born likeing blood. His parents tried to drawn him. Calling him a demon from hell. But knowing we don't have to breath, they never did kill him. Later when he met my great great grandmother he rejoiced and said 'No parents I was a gift from God to fix this broken world.' And afer that he turned only the poor and the orphans that would never be adopted."

"That's amazing."

"Well soon he relized he changes to many greedy people and they began abusing their powers. People began to notice and began killing vampires. Even the good ones. They became slayers."

"Are vampires sensitive to the sun?"

"Myth. The sun does not bother us. We wont get a tan nor sunburnt like any other human being."

"Are you allergic to garlic and crosses?"

"Yet more myths. We actually cherish crosses. They seem to protect us. Like a gift from God. And garlic is just like garlic to a human."

"Oh."

"My turn human."

"Oh dear."

"Do you believe in God?"

"Deffiantly. He was the only person that helped me get through Jeremiah's wrath. I'm just glad God protscted me from being raped by him. He is great."

"Next question. Did you ever think you were going to get out?"

"Honestly no. I thought I was going to die there."

"Do you have siblings?"

"How do you jump from me being trapped to-"

"Do you?"

"Yes."

"How many? Are they dead or alive?"

"I have obe. He is still alive. His name is Thomas and he is twenty -two."

"Do you miss him?"

"Of course!"

"Do you miss your parents?"

He struck my soft spot. "I miss them dearly. I always wondered what would've happened if I stayed back and helped them. Would I have I died with them? Or would we have all lived and been happy. God wouldbt have tooken them to hurt me. He has a plan for me. I believe he does. I don't know what it is. I my never know. But he has one."

He was silent. I closed my eyes and listened to the fall wind hit the motel window.

"I believe he has a plan for all of us. And I think our plan begins with you. Our lives are going to change. We have to hide you from the council. We have to capture or kill Jerimiah. We have to find your brother for you. Its not a bad thing Octavia," Jace whispered. "We should get some sleep. We will be in the car tfor awhile."

"Why wouldn't the slayers let me go when they were going to release you?" I asked.

"They wanted to see a fight. They knew I wouldn't leave you in that arena alone."

"I thought you didn't like humans?"

He closed his eyes. "I'll make an exception for you."

I turned over on my other side. "Goodnight Jace."

He put his arm aaround my waist and snuggled close to me. "Goodnight Octavia."

I didn't move. Surprisingly he felt warm against me, so I let him stay there as I drifted into sleep.
