Apparently, I had crashed on Naomi's couch after the party. All I could remember was a really cold bottle and people laughing... When I opened my eyes, Jayden was sleeping on the other couch. Naomi was sleeping on a chair. I wondered what happened while I was asleep.
I looked around. At the foot of the couch, there was one of the wine bottles Jayden had bought. It had my bright red lipstick on the edge. I quickly grabbed the bottle and recycled it. Then, I went to the bathroom to freshen up. Once I was done, I gently tapped Naomi.
"Hey do you want to go for a run?" I asked her.
"Uh? What? Oh. Yeah sure, just give me a bit so I can wake up." She answered.
"Ok"
I waited only about thirty minutes for Naomi to be ready. When she was done getting ready, we both put our running shoes on. We left the house as quietly as we possibly could. I slowly closed the door that way we wouldn't wake anyone. We started running around the property of Naomi's house. After that, we just ran wherever we felt like going.
"Naomi?" I asked.
"What?" She answered.
"What happened last night?"
"Well you drank a whole bottle of wine..."
"That explains a lot."
"I hung out with Jayden..."
"I know you guys kissed Naomi. Your lipstick was on him.
Suddenly someone came crashing into me!
"Hey!" I yelled. She gave me a sorry face, then ran away, going the opposite direction of us. Naomi and I looked at each other then, started laughing. I had no idea why.
After a while, Naomi and I got tired so, we ran back to the house. When we got there the house was completely clean. I was shocked. Jayden and Mason were nowhere to be seen. I looked at Naomi, she shrugged her shoulders then, smiled. I tried to see why she was smiling so, I walked right in front of her. She was smiling at Jayden sitting next to the couch. He was looking very intently at his phone and massaging his spine. I didn't know why that was so pleasing to Naomi, but it was. Jayden looked up then, stood up and turned off his phone.
"Oh hey! I didn't see you guys there. Where were you?" He said.
"Oh we went for a little run." Naomi replied.
Jayden looked at us then, smiled. I didn't know what all the smiling was about. I wasn't feeling smiley. I walked away, but as I was walking away I saw something on Jayden's back. It was a bump. I wanted to know what it was. I swiftly turned around and punched the bump as hard as I could. I was smiling then. Jayden let out a scream.
"Kat! What was that for?" Naomi screamed.
"I wanted to know what the bump was." I said.
"Well you could've asked!"
"I knew he wouldn't tell the truth."
"Yeah he would!"
"Fine! Jayden what's that bump on your back?"
"I can't tell you." He whispered, obviously in pain.
"You told Naomi."
"No I didn't."
"I know you did. If you didn't Naomi would be asking you what it is too."
They both looked at me. Jayden then turned his back to me and lifted the back of his shirt. What I saw was so incredibly awesome! He had little baby wings sprouting from his back.
"HOLY CRAP YOU HAVE WINGS!!!!!" I exclaimed.
"Yup." He said, pulling his shirt back down.
"Well Naomi, I guess he isn't a fish."
We both laughed. That's when I had a shooting pain down my spine. I yelped. Then, I realized what Jayden was. So I had to ask.
"Jayden?"
"Yeah?"
"What's Terra like?"
He looked worried then, confident,"I don't know what you're talking about."
"What's Terra?" Naomi asked.
"Ask Jayden, he knows. I haven't been there yet."
"Jayden? What's Terra?" Naomi asked.
"I can't tell either of you."
"Why?" We both said at the same time.
"I just can't."
"So you're not denying that you come from Terra."
"No I'm not."
"Naomi! He's from my planet!"
"What the crap are you talking about?!"
"Jayden why are you here?"
"When your parents dropped you off here, they left me here too. They told me to protect you until their ship came back here."
"Ok guys. I am very confused."Naomi said.
"Does that mean I can stop being Kat and be Acacia?" I asked Jayden, completely ignoring Naomi.
"Yes it does, Acacia future Queen of Terra."
"How?"
"Just think about getting rid of it."
I thought hard about it being gone. I thought about Acacia and about Kat leaving.
"AHHH!!!" I screamed. It really hurt.
Naomi stared at me. I ran to a mirror. When I looked into it, I saw a beautiful face, lightly striped with black and white. One of my ears was pointed down and pierced with a gold ring. My hair was in a thick braid, also striped. Around my hair were little vines with gold flowers. The last thing I saw as I was leaving, was a tail. I was still wearing my yoga pants and tank top I had been wearing to run. As I left the bathroom my wings tore through the back of my shirt. The feathers were gold.
I looked at Jayden. He looked like me, but he had thick fur on him and he had a buzz cut. His fur was not striped, it was just grey. Half of his face was metal and his eye was like a red light bulb. It looked like he had been injured. Jayden's wings were black. He whistled.
"What the crap are you?!" Naomi yelled.
"Terrinians." Jayden answered calmly.
"Naomi from now on I am not Kat. I am Acacia."
Naomi just stared. She rubbed her eyes then, looked at us again. I smiled. Naomi smiled.
"MY BEST FRIEND, IS AN ALIEN!!!!"
Everyone laughed. Then, Jayden grabbed my arm.
"Do you remember how to fly?"
"Nope!"
"Well then It's time to learn."
