When I woke up Naomi and Jayden were staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You passed out." Naomi said.
"Oh." I replied.
"What did you dream of."
"I saw Terra, I think. There was an army camp. I was the leader. People treated me like I was important. A guy named Xavier came up to me. He was the only one I could understand. He told me to go to the med tent. When I got there Naomi was laying down on a cot. Vindosile was sitting next to her, holding her hand. Naomi called my name then..." I paused, it was hard to say, "Then, she died. But I think it was my fault she died."
Jayden and Naomi just stared at me. They were very silent. Naomi opened her mouth to speak, but she stopped. I got up from the floor. Spike looked at me then, licked my hand sympathetically. I felt worried. Had I seen the future? No. Naomi wouldn't die. I wouldn't risk her life by taking her to Terra.
"How about we forget about that and go do something else." Jayden said.
"Do you think they'll let me go back to school?" I asked.
"You don't need to." Jayden said. Then, he pointed at Naomi, "You still have to."
"WHAT?! That's hardly fair!"
Naomi looked angry. Jayden walked away, I assumed that was because he wanted Naomi to calm down. Naomi looked at me then, plopped down on the couch. She grabbed the remote and turned on the news.
"Recently, there have been sightings of a spaceship. It looks like the craftsmanship of Germans, but there's no flag." The reporter said.
It showed us a picture of a thing that looked like a jet. It was black. Inside I could see a strange shape. The shape looked like a Terrinian. I couldn't believe it! My parents were looking for me! I had to tell Jayden. He could help me prepare to meet them. To harness my power, whatever it was. I wondered what my power was though.
Jayden then came downstairs.
"I saw the news report." He said.
"Can you help me with my power?" I asked.
"Yes. Once we figure out what it is." He gave Naomi a playful smile.
Jayden motioned for us to follow him outside. When we got out there he signaled for us to sit down. I sat down on the soft grass.
"First, we have to figure out what your power is." Jayden said.
"What's yours?" Naomi asked.
"Battle strategy." He said it so casually. "Anyway to figure it out, you have to concentrate."
"On what?" I inquired.
"Everything." He answered.
I looked at him. He motioned for me to go on, and try. I looked around. I concentrated on one thing, then the next. Nothing happened. A rustling came from the nearby woods. I ignored it and continued thinking about the things around me. More rustling. I worried that, maybe I was a dud. Maybe I had no power. I stopped. Suddenly, the grass grew a foot, the trees grew five extra branches and the vines in my hair grew three extra flowers.
"Plants." Jayden said, "Can be beautiful or, deadly. Try concentrating on one blade of grass."
All the plants returned to their original state. I looked at a blade of grass, directly in front of me. Immediately the blade thickened and became disattached. I picked it up. It was just big enough to fit comfortably in my hand. When I picked it up, it grew. It became like a whip. I held it carefully. I tried using it. The sound it made, was a loud crack. I loved it.
"Whip." Jayden said, "Interesting."
I rolled up the whip and slung it across my shoulder. I concentrated on other things. I thought about flowers, they immediately sprouted up everywhere. I thought about the trees, the forests became larger. Naomi smiled and laughed. I made flowers sprout then, shrink down. I was so happy, I accidently made the grass grow fifteen feet, but I put it back. I was finally a real Terrinian.
