It was late, Sunday night, when we made our plan. Acacia had built onto our fort. It now looked more like a literal tree house. It had two stories, with large windows. The "door" was some branches Acacia grew. We all sat in the dim light of fireflies trapped inside a thin leaves. We were staring at a thick piece of bark with the plan written on it.
"Maybe.... no." Naomi said.
"How about?.... never mind." Acacia said.
"I know.... wait no." I said.
"I've got it!" Acacia exclaimed. "On Saturday we can go to the docks and find a good sized boat. We will sail it out, until we can't see the land then, build the flare on the boat!.
"Ok." Naomi and I replied at the same time.
Acacia covered the plan in thick layer of leaves. We jumped out of the window, and Acacia caught us with a big flower. We rolled off and ran back to the house so we could sleep.
When I woke up, Naomi was already at school, which meant Acacia and I had to go down to the docks. It was about nine a.m. I stood up from the couch and woke up Acacia.
"Uh? Oh is it that time already?" She said.
"Yeah." I answered.
"Oh ok, but first we have to go to McCutcheon."
"Why?"
"To bother Naomi."
We got into my car and headed down to McCutcheon. When we got there, we climbed around the back of the building. Acacia tapped on the window of Naomi's classroom. She was a nerd so she was alone, reading. Cautiously, Naomi opened the window.
"What are you doing here?" She said through clenched teeth.
"Oh I just wanted to let you know that we're going to be at the docks up at the great lakes so, don't come looking for us." Acacia replied.
"Ok, but go now! Mrs.County will be back soon!"
Acacia and I left the window and took off. We flew in silence. Below us there were ponds and lakes, forests and plains, houses and farmland. I loved Earth sometimes, but Terra has always been better. When we finally got to the dock, it was packed. People were fishing and racing, doing all manners of things. I knew we couldn't fly down without exposing ourselves so, we hovered above the scene. I tried to see if there were any vulnerable boats we could steal.
Then, I spotted a nice, moderately sized boat. It had a large deck with a door to go below deck. The steering mechanism looked pretty simple. I figured I could pilot it. I looked over and saw Acacia holding a small piece of bark. She was drawing a detailed picture of the boat.
"Here's the plan." She said.
