I guess this is chapter one of my first book, thanks for coming I appreciate it! Well let's not keep you waiting shall we? Let's-a go!
I sigh as I step out of the bathroom, wearing nothing but a towel. My wet hair tickling my shoulder blades, sensitive to the cold strands brushing up against my skin. I shivered and hurried to my room. Putting on my day-clothes, I guessed I had some time left in the day to not put on any pajamas. I stumbled into my living room and flopped down on the couch, letting out a sigh of relief, as my muscles relaxed and my heart beat slowed to a comfortable rate.
I was tired from all the hustling and bustling I did today, running errands for myself is harder than I thought. It's a miracle how parents do it almost everyday.
I took a deep breath before switching on the T.V. I didn't care what was on as long as it was boring, I had time to take a short nap before I did the dishes. The news switched on, and the spokesperson was telling a story about a charity event going on downtown. I smiled before closing my eyes, letting my consciousness slip into a welcomed rest.

I jumped as a phone rang loudly nearby. Rudely awakening me from my peaceful dreamless slumber, I slowly looked to my phone on the tabletop sitting next to the couch. Feeling my muscles strain as I reached for the thin black phone, then answering after seeing that it was my friend Shannon.
"Yeah?" I answered, sitting up.
"You got a shelter to go to?" She asked, she sounded urgent.
"Huh?" I asked, not exactly sure what she said.
"In case of a huge natural disaster or something."
"Uh yeah." I answered, glancing outside. It was already raining, not that hard though.
"Oh good, that's all I wanted to know." She said, sounding relieved, " Bye, stay safe." And she hung up before I could respond.
I looked at the T.V. as I set my phone back on the table. "That was weird..." I muttered to myself. Noticing that the news had switched to the weather channel.
"Now, as you can see here... There is a heavy amount of rain and lightning in this district, heading northeast at 95 miles per hour. Also, unfortunately there is a tornado watch currently going on, this would be the strongest storm we've ever had, some would even call it a super storm. And a super storm it would be, I recommend-" suddenly the T.V. Switched off, as well as the lights. Symbolizing that the power went out.
"Dang it." I muttered, a full day running errands and now the power goes out. Just my luck... I sure hope I don't have to fix anything.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to relieve my stress. I Decided I should go to bed and call it a day, it was a lot later then I expected to wake. I was too tired to put on any pajamas. I admit I am that lazy, but it saves time for choosing what to wear in the morning.
As soon as my head touched the pillow, my muscles felt heavy. The rainfall outside was coming down harder, but it was like it was lulling me to sleep. Encouraging me to rest; and I agreed, I had a long busy day, I came home only wanting to rest. I turned over into a comfortable position, and let myself fall into another restful sleep.
Oh, but little was I aware of the storm going on outside, a storm unlike any other. A storm that would change my life, a storm that would change what I knew about life...
...It would change me to be unusually small.
