Chapter 37:

I watched as he sparked his blunt while the starlight shined on him. We had a 30 minute drive to the party so I mean he might as well smoke now than share with a bunch of other people. "Hit this" he said passing me the blunt. I looked up at Austin in confusion, "Are you crazy? I don't smoke".  "You used too so just hit it your wasting it by starring at it" He said taking another hit before starting the car. I placed the thick blunt between my lips and hit it. I haven't smoked in years, I'm talking about since I was 14, 15 and I'm about to turn 19. I was instantly high sadly, "Wow doesn't taste too bad" I said passing it back. "Right, I found some in Daniel's old office" Austin chuckled.

We finally arrived at the Mora's second mansion, they have like 3 one here in Texas, California, and Florida. The music blared from the beautiful house that was covered in lights. Zach and Kylie finally meet up with us at the front doors "I haven't told anyone about us" Zach whispered in my ear as we walked in. I simply nodded and kept on walking. When walked in the smell of marijuana was strong, everyone was either sitting down drinking or dancing. "Olivia!? Zach?!", I heard Mrs. Mora's voice ring. We both turned our heads quickly "Haven't seen you guys in a while since Daniel pasted", she said as her smile faded. "Well drinks are at the bar and food is outside help yourselves"

"You want to drink?" Austin asked standing by the bar, I want one so bad but if he drinks I need to be "dd". "I'm not drinking tonight so you can drink Olivia" he said waving the bartender down. "2 shots of Hennessy", I shouted over the loud music "You can take one, but that's all" I smiled pointing at Austin. I grabbed a Bud Light after downing my shot and took Austin into the dancing crowd.

We danced just about all night to every song until we heard a gun fire. "Um Olivia", I heard Austin murmur as the music went off. I looked at Austin as his lips trembled, "What is it baby?", I asked concerned. He held on me for balanced "It's burning" and that moment I knew that Austin was shot. I instantly dragged him out of the building looking for our car. I could hear Austin's breathing getting heavier as if he ran a marathon, "We need to hurry babe I'm going to bleed out"

"I'm sorry m'am you can't go in there with him", the nurse said calmly. "We need to do our job and save him he's lost too much blood". I sat in the waiting room thinking to myself who could've done this, but that's an endless list of people. My phone went off loudly making me jump and it read

"...Adriana told me what your plan was for Kylie if I were you I'd leave Texas as soon as possible because you're next..."

I did not reply to the text at all, I got up from my seat and got into my car searching for my laptop. I hooked my phone up to the laptop and began tracing the private number. If this was someone good they wouldn't be easy to find I know, but it went through and it was sent from an iPhone. Obviously not a professional, or an experienced. I kept trying to break through the phone itself so I could put a bug on it, but then a thought went through my mind. I instantly got out of the car and checked all around for any devices that were latched onto the car and I did end up finding a small bug. I destroyed it and tossed it behind a bush, I then continued trying to break into the phone that sent this text to me.

I tried a code that Daniel used to get back at Antonio for years. And it finally worked, I'm in. I thank god for tinted windows so no one can see what I'm doing. But I listened to the phone and I heard a familiar voice talking, "Did you get him?" "Yes, but he might make it. It's Austin for god's sake, it'll take more than a bullet to get rid of him"

Zach..

"Kylie I know you're the mother of my son but this hurts me more than anything. Olivia is like my sister-" Kylie then hisses at him "Olivia this Olivia that. It's either me the woman you're supposed to love or some other girl" I could hear Zach grunting angrily "She isn't some girl, she's my sister! My baby sister and I would never want to see her hurt ever. I know that what I did tonight is going to start a war, a war that's never going to end until we're both dead" and Zach was right on. This is war, and she chose the wrong girl to declare it with.

I headed back into the hospital to check on Austin, and he should be in recovery now. I saw the same nurse from a couple hours ago and I quickly ran over to her "Can I see him yet?"
"Immediate family only" she said calmly. "I'm his fiancé and I'm the only family he's got" She looked at me sadly and nodded "He's right over there".

I walked into the room to see him still asleep. I sat down next to him and the tears came quickly. I held his hand as I quietly cried with my head down. "Hey" I heard his raspy voice crack. I looked up still tears falling freely, "Why are you crying?", he said trying to wipe the tears away. "Because I know who did this", I whispered in his ear. He looked at me in confusion and mouthed, "Who?" I looked down at the ground shaking my head slowly, "Zach and Kylie haven't been in sight since the last time we saw them at the party". "Of course they haven't" , he said groaning. "I want them to transfer you to Florida, I need to work with Jake on this, I knew I should've just done my job. I knew I couldn't have put my trust into Adriana" I said sniffling. "Then tell them I'm pretty sure they can fly me out, I wish I can help baby", he said grazing his thumb over my knuckles.

I slept at the hospital in the same room as Austin that night and the following morning I talked to the doctors about transferring him to the hospital in Miami. They agreed but he'll have to wait 3 days to leave. I called Jake letting him know what happened, and he and his men are on it. I do not know the plan for Adriana, but Kylie and Zach are left to me.

3 days later

Zach's dead..

I sat there cradling his body that was shot multiple times. I cried and cried, "Oh Zachary, I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry". Jake came in the house with his men, "We have to take him away Olivia", said one of the guards. I nodded my head as they took my lifeless brother out of my arms, "She's gone" Jake said picking me up. "There's no way she's gone, I'm going to find her Jake!", I shouted with anger pounding on his chest. "She's not getting away with this, I'm going to get her no matter what the cost is"

Austin was flown to Florida already and he won't be out the hospital for another 2 weeks, he'll also be in a wheel chair for a couple days until he has enough strength to walk. Jake and I are staying in Texas tracing Kylie and keeping tabs on her every move. She's trying to leave Texas with a bullet in her leg and she still has the iPhone I tracked her with. She must be really stupid for not getting rid of it, but Jake has sent some people to pick her up from the train station that she just stopped at.

"Jake", I said rubbing my eyes "Yes Olivia?" He said looking towards me. "Thank you, for everything. For the job, for having my back, and for sticking with me through these times" he smiled wrapping his arm around my shoulder, "Well I guess this is what friends are for"

Well then... This chapter left me speechless. Not just because of the betrayal but because of Jake. He's not the type to do work for others but for himself. That was a selfless act of him.
