Rapunzel's Pov

Guards surrounded us and blocked every single exit.
What were we going to do?
"Jack?" I ask.
Where did he go? Shivers crawled down my spine and I stood by Elsa, clutching her hand. She was weak; she wouldn't be much help for escaping, and it would be really hard to help her. I took a deep breath. I had so many questions I didn't know the answers to at all. How was I going to escape? What was I going to do about the guards? How did so many guards get here so quickly? Where was Jack? Were the people from the island looking for us?
I looked at Elsa. She had a look on her face that said, "I told you guys this was a bad idea." Guilt plunged in my chest, and I started to look around for escape routes, on the ceilings, on the walls, anywhere. But the few that existed were covered by angry, buff guards.
Elsa was shaking and she looked tired and woozy. She looked so weak she would fall over any minute. I grabbed half a sandwich I had saved from the boat from my voyage to Corona and secretly handed it to Elsa. She looked at me with such gratefulness it looked as if she'd cry, and she tried concealing eating it, but with everyone staring at us, of course they noticed.
"Get them!" A guard that looked like some type of leader growled and instructed. "Stop standing around, you pathetic misfits!"
"Follow me on the count of 3," I whispered to Elsa. How has Jack managed to escape? "1, 2—"
Something, I'm not sure what, grabbed me and Elsa. Startled it was a guard, Elsa and I tried to fight it off, then we heard a whisper.
"It's me."
Phew. It was Jack. He flew us around for a bit, looking for something to escape through, when finally, we saw it.
A little trapdoor in the ceiling was closed and camouflaged with all the matching wood on the ceiling, but we spotted it.
"Do you see that, Jack?" I whispered.
"Yep," he whispered back. "We'll be out in no time, no worries."
We zoomed out through the trapdoor with Jack and we thudded onto the rooftop.
"Jack!" Elsa and I exclaimed.
"Shh!" Jack shushed us. "I need to prepare myself for a minute."
He stretched his arms, took a deep breath, then grabbed us under the cloak of the sunset sky. We zoomed through the air, the wind whipping my hair. I held tight to Elsa, because I knew it wouldn't be easy for Jack to hold the both of us and I wanted to help a bit, since everyone seemed so annoyed with me.
I was still worried about falling and I hated heights, but the beautiful sky relaxed and calmed me down a lot. Purple, pink, red, and yellow spread across the sky beautifully together in a wonderful mix. Soft white clouds slowly drifted through it all, though only few clouds were around. No birds or anything that could fly were really outside; a few times we heard aircrafts lurching forwards far behind us though, looking for "The Monsters." Luckily, Jack was a lot faster and we escaped everything. Tons of soldiers and guards were marching around with guns, looking for us, though. Jack stopped camouflaging himself to help him gain more strength, since so much of it went to camoflauging himself and no one was around to look for him anymore.
"Thank you," Elsa whispered weakly. "Thank you."
Jack didn't say anything back, he just smiled warmly and softly to himself with his mouth closed.
"You're welcome," I said, "Though it was mostly Jack. But rest up and drink something, your mouth is dry and your voice is raspy," I said. I thought I still had some water in my bag.. I fished through my bag until.. Aha! There it is! I grabbed my water canteen. There was still a lot of water left, so I handed it to Elsa and she gulped and chugged some down quickly and gratefully.
"Thank you," she said more easily now, her voice sounding more normal and herself looking much more satisfied. She was still holding the half sandwich.
"Now eat that and drink the rest of the canteen and you shall rest after," I instructed.
Elsa nodded and ate and drank until there was none left, and she bobbed her head as she drifted off to sleep, the beautiful sky draping over her.
It was a beautiful and relaxing sight, really, but all I could wonder about was if Jack knew the way back to the tower.. Or Corona.. Would I be allowed back in Corona, or would I have to hide in the tower for the rest of my life? I bit my lip. I was really worried, especially since Jack seemed like he didn't want me around lately, which meant he most definitely didn't want me in the tower...
"You did a good job," Jack said.
"Huh?"
"You did a nice job. With Elsa and everything. Thank you."
"Oh, um, it's no problem, really," I said, tucking my hair behind my ear.
And we drifted in the sky, traveling for the rest of the night, covered in the blanket of the dark night sky, stars twinkling dreamily at us.
A shooting star passed, just as I was about to fall asleep for the night in Jack's arms.
"I wish for everything to be okay, including Jack and Elsa. And I wish we will not be considered monsters anymore."
I whispered this wish so quietly, and Jack was so focused, I thought he wouldn't hear me. But apparently, he did.
"Me too," Jack said, and with that, I drifted off to sleep in the calm darkness, safe with my friends.
