"Let me see it let me see it!" Laurel laughed as she heard Sarah coming in through the door. It was now Thanksgiving and the family was starting to arrive at their house for the holiday. "I don't even get a hello first?" Laurel asked her friend as she grabbed her hand to see the engagement ring. Sarah looked a split second from Laurel's ring then back up to Laurel. "Hello. Oh! This is a beaut!" Sarah grinned. Laurel shook her head at her friend. "Congratulations!" She said excitedly hugging her friend. Laurel gave Sarah a hug in return. "Thank you.."
"Where is Henry?" William asked, coming over to give Laurel a hug as well. "He should be here soon. He got a client call.. How have you two been?" Laurel asked glancing at them. "How's the touring going?" William smiled. "It's been going fantastic actually. I think I have a couple of new songs that I might be able to work on for the next tour." "Ooo. Do we get to hear them?" Laurel asked. William hesitated a moment. "They're still on the beginning stages, but when they're completed, I will definitely play them for you. You guys will be my first audience." He smirked.
"Is there anything that I can help with?" Sarah asked coming into the kitchen to see Laurel helping Henry get the turkey made. Henry glances over as he hears Sarah's question. "Oh no no. Go ahead and relax. We're almost done." Sarah nodded then exited the kitchen and walked back over to sit down on the couch next to WIlliam, starting to visit with him again while they waited for the turkey.
"Do you have anything planned out yet?" Felicity asked Laurel when they had finished eating and she was helping Laurel and Sarah clear the table. "I know the colors that I want, and the flowers. And I already know who I want to be for my maid of honor." Laurel said smiling over at Sarah. Sarah looked at her a little surprised as she heard what Laurel was saying as she looked directly at her. "You.. You do?" She smiled. "Of course I do. You're my best friend after all." "You know I would love to.." Sarah grinned. Felicity chuckled a little. Henry smiled as he glanced up slightly from the conversation he was having with the guys seeing Laurel visiting excitedly with the girls about the wedding.
"Dude. We're going to have to go out for drinks this weekend as long as we're all here together." Andy pointed out. Henry chuckled. "You do realize that because of my abilities I can't get drunk?" Andy rolled his eyes. "You could at least still pretend to be having fun. Come on.. It's a celebration on your engagement.. I know for a fact that there's karaoke." He smirked. "Why don't we see if the girls would want to join?" Henry smiled a little. "That does sound like fun. I'm pretty sure that the girls will be game for it. But.. I will say this first hand, I will not sing." Henry stated. Andy sighed. "Oh come on. Try something fun and spontaneous for once."
As Saturday night came around, the group of friends got ready. Laurel and Henry would meet the others down at the bar. "I can't believe that we agreed to this.." Laurel muttered. "Oh come on." Henry laughed. "It will be fun. And Sara is right, you do sing good." Laurel blushed a little. "Well consider yourself lucky, because the only time I usually sang was in my room." "You and William should have started a family band." Henry smirked. Laurel rolled her eyes. "Let's go before I change my mind." Henry grabbed his keys and Laurel followed him out of the house to head to the bar to meet the others.
"I already have put in my request! And guess what?" Sarah said excitedly once Laurel and Henry arrived and made their way over to the table they reserved. "I'm too afraid to ask.." Laurel muttered. Sarah laughed. "Oh loosen up you. This is your celebration. I put in a duet and you're singing with me." Laurel smiled slightly at her friend's comment. "How much time do I..." But before she could ask, Laurel could hear hers and Sarah's names being called to the stage. Laurel could feel herself suddenly become quite nervous. She had never sang in front of crowds before, and she didn't even know which song Sarah had chosen. Knowing Sarah, it was probably a song that made her shine and made Laurel look like a fool.
Seeing the song title pop up on the screen, Laurel sighed, at least she knew this song fairly well. She glanced over at Sarah raising her eye slightly. "Really? You had to choose this song for us two? Don't you think this will be awkward?" She asked as the dj handed her her microphone. Sarah laughed a little. "Just go with the flow for once. I'll be Dolly." Laurel watched the screen then started singing the words as they began to light up on the screen. "Baby when I met you there was peace unknown, I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb..."
Once Laurel and Sarah were done singing, the two of them walked back to the table. Andy let out a laugh and clapped his hands as they reached closer to the table. "Well done. Well done you two... You actually almost sounded like Dolly and Kenny.." Hearing the slight sarcasm in his voice, Laurel gave him a playful smack on the shoulder. "Hey!" He jolted back in his chair slightly out of Laurel's reach. "I need a drink before I sing another song.." Laurel muttered. "I think you did great babe.." Henry said wrapping an arm around her to give her a quick kiss.
"Are you sure we have everything?" Felicity asked as she watched her daughter from the doorway of the small room in the church. Laurel smiled. "Yes, mom, we have everything." How can she be so calm? Felicity thought watching her daughter. She definitely has her father's patience when it came to such things. "Are you ready?" Oliver asked as he walked into the room. Laurel smiled as she saw her dad standing there in his suit. "You're looking quite handsome today Mr. Queen.." Felicity said as she had turned to Oliver hearing his voice coming from the doorway. Oliver smiled looking over at Felicity. "You are looking as beautiful as ever Mrs. Queen..." Felicity grinned a little. "It's time sweetie.." Oliver said looking back over at Laurel as he could hear the organ starting to play. Laurel took a deep breath and nodded, following her parents out of the room.
"You ready?" Oliver asked his daughter once they had walked to the church entrance. Laurel glanced back over at him and smiled. "I'm more than ready..." Oliver took a deep breath going quiet a few minutes, letting some old memories of when she was little start to get to him. He almost missed his cue for to start walking down the aisle until he felt Laurel nudge his side. "Dad.. It's time.." He takes a deep breath.. "Oh. Right.." He starts to walk with her down the aisle.
"You'll make sure to call us that you got there safe right?" Felicity asked the two of them before they climbed into the limo. Laurel smiled. "Yes, mom, of course, we will let you know.." Laurel gave her mom one last hug before getting into the car. Oliver walked up to Felicity wrapping an arm around her, waving as they watched the limo drive them away.
