The Price of a Grave

Aria took in a sharp intake of air at the sight of the man. With a click of his fingers tens of Reinforcers forced themselves through the doorway. Somehow, The Persistence had known of their arrival. It seemed that this sudden realization had begun to shock everyone. Blood Moon stood in the front of the group facing his enemy leader and Ray took position behind the group staring directly at his attackers. Everything was still. Until Mr. Benzedrine, the man in the shadows, interrupted the silence. "Now." He twirled the dagger in his hand. "Give me my blood shed." Aria eyes widened as she hid herself deeper amongst the people, most likely the only person who knew exactly what he meant.

Asher walked out from behind his father two swords strapped across his back. He reached behind him for the weapons while advancing slowly to the rebels. Pickle was the closest and the easiest target for Asher as he grabbed her throat and swiftly swung the sword so it would be placed mere centimeters before her neck.

Aria held her breath and prayed. To no one in particular. Maybe to Pickle asking for her to do something. Maybe to Asher for him to pull the sword away. Perhaps to her own father for have being something more than just a biological family member.

After a few moments of complete silence, Asher seemed to have given up and removed the sword from Pickle's neck. "Fine. If that didn't work, then let's try a cut a little bit closer to home. A toddler was pushed from the group of Reinforcers and stumbled towards Asher. Asher swooped the child up into his arms. Asher then caught the dagger that Dr.Benzedrine had previously been holding and had been thrown to him. The dagger was then used as a weapon against the young toddler. Multiple gasps spread from throughout the rebels, most of them female. Aria dared to crouch closer to the scene and recognize the child in Asher's arms as Arrow, her youngest brother. Soon, another child appeared on the gym floor and Aria could instantly realize that it was Arrow's twin sister, Bow. Dr. Benzedrine took a position besides Asher and picked up Bow, none too carefully. He then pulled another small dagger from his back pocket and matched Asher's stance.

While the rebels stood in shock, the Reinforcers took this opportunity to bound the Storm member's hand together behind their backs after jumping them. Aria managed to escape their grasps along with three others who were Bug, Ray and Panther. Blood Moon was struggling with four men atop him. Dr. Benzedrine and his son noticed her immediately and smirked. Sol and Bug held matching smirks, staring directly at her. Sol was released by his persecutors. Ray, Panther and Aria looked around, confused.

But, before they could come to a conclusion of the current events, Asher interrupted their thoughts. "Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way." It was clearly meant for Aria so she responded. "What's the difference?"

"The difference is the price of two graves." Dr. Benzedrine said slowly pulling the dagger closer to the children. Aria held her breath for a few moments until her brain decided it was just too close. She jumped to action. Literally. One second she was standing five feet away. The next she was hurdling towards Asher. Asher quickly reacted by dropping Arrow in his arms and catching Aria mid-air. Aria instantaneously clawed and scratched at her catcher. Asher threw her down harshly, but Aria used this to her advantage by using her leg to kick the back of his knee and make him fall. The other Thunders and Lightnings were watching the scene with surprise and an urgency to escape the Reinforcers' grasps. They were kicking and yelling. And Dr. Benzedrine was watching the chaos with a smile as Ray and Panther were attacked by Bug and Sol.
