Aria kept to the wall, performing the stealthy act she had been practicing for weeks. After passing the last guard, she was in. The New Kid was slouching on the wooden stool in his cell. Aria settled into the metal chair stationed across from the bars. Her bag jingled as she placed it beside her. Kid instantly perked up noticing her.

"How is it out there?"

"Not getting any better."

"Anything new?"

"Nothing interesting."

"Are they here yet?"

"Yep."

He sighed. "They should just give up all ready. I'm not getting out of here anytime soon."

Aria was appalled. Kid was a Lightning. He can't give up. "But Kid!"

"What? If you have any ideas than speak up, Aria! Because I don't have anything!" He snapped. She was put off by Kid's unexpected outburst and silently picked the keys out of her bag. She dropped them about a foot in front of the cage. The bleach blonde had been looking down and had fallen back onto his stool when he heard the key's impact with the floor. He looked up slowly and his eyes landed on the keys immediately. He saw them and jumped up. With hands clenching the bars he questioned Aria. "You... Why did... I... How did you get you get these?" His words were barely a whisper. "I stole them while he was sword fighting with Fay and Asher." Fay was Aria's favourite sister and Asher was her twin brother. Kid reached for them, but Aria snatched them up before he could. He looked up at her with a hurt and confused expression. "Wha..."

"I'll give them to you." Aria paused for a dramatic effect. "But, only if you take me with you."

"No."

"That's the only way."

"No, it's too dangerous. You wouldn't like it."

"How would you know I wouldn't like it?"

"Because I do."

"And it's safer here?"

"Until The Storm can form a plan, yes."

Aria stared him down with a hard face. They held that stance for a moment before Aria jolted up and threw the keys into her bag and began quickly walking away. She had only climbed a few stairs before she heard The New Kid. "Fine."

"What?"

"Fine. I'll take you. But we need to go quickly."

She nodded excitedly and fumbled with the keys. Eventually she was able to open the cell. The New Kid jumped out and began running. He grabbed her hand before sprinting away and dragged her along with him. She was only allowed a moment of hesitance to grab her bag. Together they ran through the maze of a complex. They didn't bother with whoever saw them and soon a group of Reinforcers were on their trail. Aria didn't dare to look back or to catch her breath. For if they failed she knew she would lose more than just her window.

After what felt like hours, Aria finally saw the exit and pulled Kid towards it. They stared into the plain sandy Earth. The other Lightnings had already jumped into their van and were speeding off. Within seconds the vehicle was out of sight. Kid and Aria stopped for a moment to look at each other for answers or reassurance. But neither of those could be found in the dark of the night. That was their only unspoken plan. And it had failed. It failed. This was the only thought going through Aria's mind when a Reinforcer pulled a needle out of his weapon sling. All she felt was a pinch. But gravity suddenly turned on her. She was falling towards the ground too fast and the light wasn't reaching her sight fast enough.
