Horses

I wake up to the horrible sound of a blender, and all I want to do is smash it. My head starts to pound as soon as I sit up, I'm staring to wonder if it ever stopped. I look at myself in the mirror, my makeup is smudged, I was so trashed I didn't even change last night. I brush my teeth, and get ready before I head downstairs.

"Morning cutie" Mabel says excitedly, making my head spin. I grab an aspirin and sit down on the stool, she looks at me worriedly.

"Are you getting sick?" She asked concerned, I shake my head, and sit up so she doesn't suspect anything. As my headache start to get worse, Caroline saunters downstairs with a huge smile on her face.

"I had the best time" she says sitting next to me, I smile, and nod.

"You guys went out where?" Mabel asks her hands kneading some dough. I look at Caroline who seems to be calm.

"We went to one of those dances they hold for the youth" she says sipping on my coffee, I take my coffee away, and smile at her.

"That sounds so fun, well I'm glad your behaving" Mabel says smiling at Caroline, Caroline nods, and makes herself some coffee. We're talking about who's house the Sunday barbecue is at, when everyone comes piling down the stairs. 

"Morning" Riley says her eyes swollen, and her hair matted to her face.

"Honey, you look awful, what happened?" Mabel asks wiping her hands, and taking a closer look. 

"I'm fine, just allergies" Riley says swatting her away, I stare a her shocked, and so does Caroline.

"Morning" Zay says putting his arm around me, and Caroline. We both shrug him off, he laughs.

"Why are you here?" I asks still staring at Riley.

"I came home with Lucas after last night" he says suddenly freezing. Me, and Caroline both burst out laughing. He groans, while grabbing some orange Juice.

"Speaking of where is my little brother" Caroline asks, and suddenly flash backs of last night come. I Called him dad, and I told Sam about us.

"I'm right here" he says passing me, and going straight to the sink. He chugs a glass of water, which surprised me because he hardly drank last night.

"Morning, how did you and Zay sleep?" Caroline asks innocently making me laugh. He looks at me his eyes don't go dark or broody, so he isn't that mad. I look away suddenly feeling like I'm under a microscope, and he can see right through me.

"So, I hear that you two were quite the pair" Caroline says pointing at me, and Lucas, I swallow my coffee quickly so I don't choke.

"What?!" I asks confused, she laughs

"Momma told me you guys ride together, all day" she clarifies with a mischievous smile. I stare at her confused.

"So can I ride with you two, or is it a privet type thing?" She asks this time Lucas answers.

"Sure, it's not privet I'm just teaching Maya how to ride" he snorts at himself, making Caroline laugh

"Enough you two, poor Maya looks like she's going to pass out" Mabel says making them laugh harder. They look identical when they laugh, the same crinkles by the yes, and the same upturned smirky smile.

"You two look so much alike" I say, Caroline nods, but Lucas shakes his head

"He's right, he's prettier than me" she says making all of us laugh, except Riley who looks like she's bout to burst

"Riley, why don't you go on upstairs, and sleep it off" Caroline says taking small sips of her coffee, Riley looks like she's about to murder us.

"I said i'm fine" she says her voice tight like she's about to cry

"Riles, just get some rest" I say quietly, she glares at me tears in her eyes, I've never seen her make this face towards me, its scary. We don't say anything after that, we let it go, and she goes back to sulking in the corner. We all finish breakfast, and Caroline, Lucas, and I are going riding. I rush upstairs grabbing a pair of shorts and a tank top, I also put my hair up, the heat is not matting my hair to my neck. I rush outside ready to see Melody, when I see her she neighs like crazy, and I take that as a good sign.

"Hi baby, did you miss me?" I ask brushing her fur, she's a pet that I never thought I wanted, and now I cant image leaving her after the summers over. Caroline, and Lucas come out after. Caroline has the almost exact outfit as me, except my tank tops black, and her tank top is white.

"woah , look at that, now aren't you guys supposed to fight" Lucas says putting on my saddle

"No, we're mature, but Maya you should change" She jokes

"What I was out here first" I retaliate making her snort. We start slow, Caroline needs to get use to her old horse, but when she does she's a blur. We stop at a lookout, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

"I'm going to miss this" I say taking in a breath of country air.

"You still have the rest of the summer, thats 2 more months" Caroline says taking a picture of the view

"Speaking of leaving, are you staying or going anytime soon" I asks her, she puts her phone away

"I think I'm gonna stay, maybe this summer will be fun, with you any ways. Also why is Riley so pissed?" she asks Lucas, and me.

"I have no clue, she's acting different" I say anxiety seeping in when I think of change, Caroline notices, and drops the subject. We find a new path, that the horses cant make it through, so we say we're gonna go camping sometime later this week. When we get back we all clean off the horse, before heading back inside.

"How was it?" Mabel asks as soon as we get inside

"It was great, I forgot how fun it was" Caroline says opening the fridge

"Well great, me, and your father are staying over at the wilson's tonight, so you kids have to fend for yourselves tonight" Mabel says lugging a duffle bag down the stairs, Lucas rushes to help. We send the m off, and tonight we have the house to ourselves.

"Okay how about a movie night?" Caroline asks eating a slice of bread

"That sounds awfully domestic of you" Lucas comments a tilt to his eyebrow.

"Lets have fun, we can watch movies play truth or dare, I want to be a teenager again, I want something domestic" she says slipping onto the couch, I sit next to her.

"Hey, where's Farkle?" I ask Lucas

"Ugh, he's with those science people, like always" he says sitting opposite us

"Owe is someone jealous, do you miss farkle?" I coo, he groans, and Caroline laughs while texting someone.

"Riles, come down" I scream to lazy to get off the couch, I don't hear anything so I scream again, and Nothing. After 5 times, I finally hear footsteps stomping the ground.

"Hey, were you dead, I called you five times" I say as she sits next to Lucas, she shrugs.

"What's wrong?" I ask again, kind of annoyed

"Nothing, so why did you call me?" she asks her hands crossed over her chest.

"Well, we're gonna have a movie night, I'm being domestic" Caroline says snuggling closer to me, Riley looks between us, angry.

"Should be fun" she says a smirk on her face.
