"Okay, the truth is that he wanted me to see him play baseball with his friends, I stayed behind a fence so no one saw me, I wasn't doing anything bad," I said pleadingly.
"I know that you don't want to get in trouble, even if you have to lie but why didn't you tell me where you were going in the first place," My Dad said calmly.
"Because I thought you would be mad at me." I shyly said.
"Y/n you're growing up and tomorrow is my first day at my job, next time tell me where you're going okay, and find something to entertain yourself while I'm gone tomorrow." He said laughing because of what he said.
After that talk, I when up to my room, daydreamed for at least a half an hour wondering what would happen if I stayed longer, or told him the truth in the first place.
I was dragged out of my thoughts by someone knocking on my window. It was squints and all the other people that were on the baseball field.
"Um, hey Squints, why are you here?" I questioned.
"Well, firstly How was our game today? And secondly, I want to introduce you to my friends." He said as he pointed down to the group of people at the bottom of my house yelling at him to hurry up.
I looked down and back up at him and said, "Well I didn't stay long for the game but it was good when I could actually see the field, and, uh, I'll be right down."
I shut my window as squints climbed down the latter he had to reach my window, " Dad I'm going with the guy that came here yesterday, and some of his friends." I said to him in the kitchen.
"Does your friend have a name?" My Dad asked.
"His name is Squints," I said before I left the house.
Squints was there where a white shirt with a white and blue designed flannel, along with some blue jeans of course and his signature glasses and backward black hat.
"Well, let's go to Vincent's." Squints says.
"Fine" the all day at different times.
Once we finally got their Squints was walking by me and another guy about his height. They all sat down on boxes or crates while Squints told me their names. The same tan guy that was walking next to squints on the way there was Yeah-Yeah, the siblings were named Timmy and Tommy Timmins, the chubbier kid was named Ham Porter, the taller guy in glasses was named Bertram Weeks, the darker guy, was Kenny DeNunez, and the last one, the only one who batted, Benny Rodriguez.
This is when our friendship really began.
