POV Changes

Okay, listen. I cannot stand when the POV is changed seventeen times in one chapter. Especially when the chapter is only 300 words or so long. Doesn't it come off as slightly redundant? Isn't there a much simpler way to change the point of view to someone else without complicating things? There is, obviously.
One way is to switch characters either every other chapter or every chapter depending on how you feel; don't do it in the middle of a chapter. If you're truly skilled, you can accomplish this without having to state directly what character is in control at that point in time. Context clues can help fill the reader in.
Or, if you're like Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson series, you could do what he does in the second series and state the character as the name of the chapter instead. Regardless, there are ways to beat around this concept instead of repeatedly changing who is narrating. Doing that is one sure fire way to ruin a good story. I promise. So don't do it.
