A cluster of girls in long tropical sundresses galloped to the edge of the resort and pointed out at the sky. Instead of the normal sunny afternoon, there was a swirl of purples and blues with a splattering of stars. Over the ledge, outer space was in full view, galaxies closer than ever before. Thea was the last to join them, her white hair pulled back into a bun and hidden with a worn baseball cap. She stared into the vast expanse. While the others gazed in wonder, she looked in with fear.
Tendrils of hair flowed freely from the bun resting on the nape of Thea's neck, almost low enough to cover the moon-shaped mark right below it. The mark was just a simple smudge of brown on her golden skin. It shouldn't have meant anything, and yet it meant everything. The moon and Thea were connected and it would cause the end of the world if she didn't stop it.
But can Thea break the connection in time? And would she want to if she knew what it would do to Henry?
