Parents Fight
I know you can hear them yelling,
but look into my eyes.
I know there's no telling,
but lend me your ears.
Let your heart pour,
it's okay when no one hears.
They say it so much,
"All parents fight."
Don't put too much heart into that lie.
It's hard enough,
growing up in this war.
Talk to me and let it go,
no use hiding it all inside another drawer.
I know they don't get it,
but we're sufferers all the same.
This is family,
I know it isn't just a game.
We all want to live happily,
that we can't is a shame.
Just breathe sweetheart,
their words were just anger.
You weren't to blame.
All you can do is breathe,
sadly if it hurts all the same.
