Kingdom of moonlight
Enveloped in darkness,
I lay here in silence.
Trying to replace the emptiness with pillows.
The space where your body should've been.
Holding in my hand,
a cast of thin air.
Perfectly in the form,
of how your hand would've fit mine.
The darkness is stunning,
yet not enough to miss the obvious lack of a person beside me.
The moon shines heartbroken through my curtain.
What sympathy I have for his dark lonesome existence.
Bringing light to an unwoken world,
just to die each morning before night turns into day.
I'll lie here waking with the moon,
my symbol of solitude and sacrifice.
Until one day you join the dark,
and save me from my sleepless bounds.
