“Try these on.” Clary calls, throwing me a black t-shirt and jeans.
Luckily for me, Clary is also slim and small, so she’s lending me some of her clothes.
“Thanks!” I say and go into the bathroom to change.
I slide the soft t-shirt over my head, pull on the jeans and come back into the bedroom. I look in the mirror and smile. The clothes look good on me.
“Thanks Clary!” I smile and she grins.
“Let’s go, we need to hear your story.” She says and we go downstairs to the library.
Tobias is sat, chatting to Jace, in a tight black t-shirt that clings to his muscles and some dark blue jeans. Magnus sit in an armchair, chatting to Isabelle and Katniss. The latter is in a figure-hugging dark green jumper and tight jeans borrowed from Isabelle. Alec is sat on the opposite side of the room to Magnus, busy staring at him without Magnus seeing him.
“Hey, Alec?” I ask “Where’s Peeta?”
Alec looks quickly away from Magnus and at me.
“Oh, I just left him in my room and told him to pick some clothes.” He answers.
As if on cue, Peeta walks into the room in a blue jumper over a black shirt.
“Does this look okay?” Peeta asks and Alec scowls
“No. Take that jumper off.”
Peeta pulls it off, his black shirt underneath. He puts it on the desk next to him.
“Don’t just leave it there! That was a present from…” Alec stops mid-rant.
“A present from me.” Magnus finishes .
“Alexander, grow up. It’s a jumper, not the crown jewels. Chill out.” He says rolling his eyes.
Peeta folds the jumper and hands it to a rather stunned-looking Alec.
“Sorry. It matches your eyes.”
Alec nods.
“So I’ve been told.”
Alec goes and sits back down. Katniss and Tobias explain the past few weeks to the shadowhunters.
“So you see…” Tobias starts.
“Alexander! Quit it!” Magnus snaps.
Alec jumps, “What?”
“Quit staring at me! Do you think I don’t see you? You’re as subtle as a slap in the face!” Magnus shouts, and storms out, disappearing down the corridor.
Alec pales dramatically and stands up. He takes a few hesitant steps, makes a gulping, choking sound and rushes out of the room, leaving in the opposite direction to Magnus.
