“You really love him,” I say softly “don’t you?”
“More than life itself.” Alec says simply, as if it’s a fact. “It hurts to be around him when I know he isn’t mine.”
“Then why do you stick around with him?” I ask, puzzled
“Because it hurts more to be apart. Alec whispers
I put my hand on his arm and look up at him.
“Then go get him back.” I say
“It’s not that easy, Tris.” Alec mutters
“Yes. It is.”
Alec sighs “But…”
“No buts.” I interrupt him. “We’re getting you back together.”
Alec looks startled.
“What? Now?” He asks
“Yes. Now.”
Alec looks at his watch.
“It’s nearly half twelve.”
I laugh. “Do I look like I’m giving you a choice?”
I stride off down the corridor in the direction Magnus left in.
“Now, where’s his room?”
