Finnick flashes me a dazzling smile and limps over to me. Cinna follows, his face contorted in pain.
“No way.” Tobias gasps, obviously recognising them, like me
Finnick kisses my hand.
“Finnick Odair; Victor, secret-keeper and most handsome man on this planet.”
Jace laughs
“Second most handsome, if you’re lucky.” He grins
Finnick smiles at me
“And you are?”
“Taken.” Tobias answers
“Tris.” I say, flashing Tobias a glance. “And that’s Tobias. We’re Katniss and Peeta’s friends.”
Cinna’s face clears
“Katniss?” he asks, desperate, hopeful. “Katniss Everdeen? She’s okay? She’s alive?”
“Oh yes.” I say “She’s fine.”
Clary taps my shoulder
“I wouldn’t bet on it. You hear that?” She asks
A delicate laugh echoes ominously through the musty air.
“That’s Camille Belcourt.”
A scream pierces the air
“And that’s Katniss!” Finnick and Cinna shout
We take off running in the direction of the scream, Cinna and Finnick moving fast despite their wounds.
“Who are you?” A voice asks
I turn to see a teenage girl looking at me. She’s pale with blonde hair.
“Hello.” I say, moving towards her. “I’m…”
And that’s when she darts forward, bares her pointy fangs and bites my arm, leaving two deep puncture wounds.
