As I turn the corner, a shout rings out, a few hallways down, piercing the silent hallways of the Institute.
“I HATE you Magnus Bane!” Alec’s familiar voice yells.
Alec and Magnus burst around the corner
“Oh yeah, Alexander. ‘Cos you’re just SO amazing!” Magnus retorts sarcastically
“Urm, guys?” I mumble, awkwardly. They rage on regardless.
“I can’t believe you tried to steal my immortality!” Magnus shouts
“I didn’t.” Alec says, quietly, and somehow that’s worse than when he was shouting. “I told Camille I didn’t want to do it. Why don’t you believe me?”
“I do believe you, Alexander. But you thought about doing it, and that’s enough.” Magnus says softly.
“Maybe it’s because I love you.” Alec whispers, and a tear runs down his pale face.
Magnus rubs his own eyes. “Maybe it is.”
I clear my throat.
“I’m going home.” Magnus sighs, ruffling his spiky, glittered hair.
He turns down the corridor and that’s when Alec’s tears start to fall.
