The Forever Bride Of The Living Dummy

Chapter 1

I didn't really remember going to go see Slappy at the show when my mum mentioned him to me a few months ago. but for some reason I do and every day since those few months ago, I wish we never went.
I was only 7 years old at the time, It was my Birthday at the time so mum and dad took me to a children's puppet show.

Before we went off I begged my mum to let me bring my Doll Anna, she's really big, probably bigger than me at the time, she had blonde curly hair that went to her shoulders and wore a black headband, on that day she was wearing a bright blue dress that went up to her knees and bright pink shoes, she had turquoise eyes and had bright red cheeks.

Mum agreed that I could take her if I didn't complain about the drive or the show. I nodded, i showed out my hands to show my hands weren't crosses.

I remember going into the theater that day, it was so crowded, the place was packed with parents and their kids, either around my age or they were older. Mum had to carry Anna, just because it was hard for me to carry her through the crowd.

When we got our seats the place was nearly pacts, Mum put Anna next to me in an empty seat and we waited for the show to start. We waited for about 10 minutes until finally a man came on stage, carrying a ventriloquist doll, he had wooden orange curly hair and big green eyes.

He wore a Black suit and a red tie. he sat down on a seat that was in the middle and put the doll on his lap. "Hello boys and Girls" he said loudly into the microphone.

Everyone started clapping." I am the great Jimmy o' James and I would like to introduce you all to my good old friend.... Slappy" he said. The clapping continued. "Hello their" The doll said into the microphone. We we're not too far away from the front rows, probably 4 or 5 rows but I could Se sweat pouring of of Jimmy's face,  couldn't understand it.

"So Slappy, how are you?" He asked turning his head to him. "I've been great, I have to to tell the truth, if I lie, my nose grows" he said happily, Everyone laughed, including me, I could hear kids laughing really hard, even my parents we're laughing.

"Your nose grows when you lie?" He asked as if it was one of the most bizarre thing he had ever heard. "Yeah, it runs in the family, it almost killed my uncle Pinocchio" he said happily, the whole room was filled with laughter, some people began clapping, I could still see the sweat of Jimmy's face, but I did take much notice of it.

"And what do you think of the audience here" he said pointing at the audience. "This is an audience? For a moment I thought we were at the zoo" he said looking around. Everyone laughed. "That's not nice Slappy, I think they are wonderful boys and girls" he said with a smile. Slappy didn't say anything, he looked at the audience for a moment or 2, then he looked at Jimmy again.

"Say Jimmy, why don't we bring someone from the audience up?" He asked, ignoring what Jimmy said.jimmy looked as though he was thinking. "Alright Slappy, that's a good idea" he said, putting another smile on his face.

"Their are so many kids we should pick" he said frowning, "it's a shame we can't pick all of them. "I'll pick one Jimmy, you should sit down, this is my show after all" Slappy said with a grin, everyone laughed as if it was a big joke, but I could still see that Jimmy looked nervous.

"Let's see how should I pick...." He said as if he was thinking, loads of kids began getting out of their seats and putting their hands up as if it was a teacher asking a question, they all kept yelling out "Pick me! Pick me Slappy!". I didn't do this, I just stayed in my seat and waited. "I've made my decision" he said finally. All the kids sat down in their seats." I pick the girl other their" he said pointing in our direction. " The girl with the big doll" he continued.

One of the bright lights shone down on me. I was so nervous, I didn't know what to do. "Come on up" Jimmy said with a big smile. Nervously, I got up, picked up Anna and begun to make my way up the stage. "So what's your name?" Jimmy asked when I finally got on stage.

"Umm... L-Lucy... Lucy Radmen" I said shyly. "Nice to meet you Lucy, and what's your doll's name?" Jimmy asked into the microphone. "Anna" I said quickly.

"What do you think Slappy?" He asked turning to him. "Hmm..." Slappy said as if thinking of what he was going to say. He didn't reply. "Slappy? Did you hear me?" He asked again. "Sorry what did you say?" He asked  as if he had no idea what jimmy was talking about. All the kids in audience laughed, except me.

"I said what do you think about Lucy here" Jimmy said pointing towards me. Slappy looked at me for a minute or 2. "Well..."  he said, his eyes looking to the other side of the audience . "Go on Slappy, we all don't want your nose to grow" he joked,  The room was filled with laughter again, Slappy didn't look that happy.

"Hey! I'm the one who makes the jokes around here Jimmy, you Dummy" he growled angrily, The whole audience laughed. I could see the sweat from Jimmy's face pouring down his face,  I couldn't understand why though.

"You can go back to your seat now" Jimmy said as he used his hand to wipe of the sweat of his face. Silently, I walked off the stage and got back to my seat.

The show went on for another few hours, every time Slappy said something, he made the whole audience, it was great, after it finished, I fell asleep in the car. "Oh no" I heard mum say, "My ring, my engagement ring, it's gone, i must of lost it at the show" she said unhappily.

"Do you want me to turn the car around?" i heard dad ask. "Oh, no it's fine, besides... Lucy is sleeping." They kept talking about something, but i had already fell asleep.

I didn't see Slappy after that, in fact after sometime after that show I forgot about it, I thought i wasn't going to see him again. But we did, a few months ago and that was when the Nightmare Began.
