Chapter 23

"Well, we're waiting" the skeleton said. "Umm...Er..." I mumbled, If I don't do something, I would get married to a dummy. "You don't want to marry me!" I said, kind if desperately, "I can't cook, I can't clean or do anything useful!'

Maybe I could change Slappy's mind, maybe if I convinced him not to marry me, he will leave my family alone. Slappy glared at me, "Quiet bride!" he growled "Answer the question!"

Sweat began to form on my fore-head. "No!" I said quickly, "I don't want to marry you!" Slappy looked furious. "If you don't, I'll harm your parents, your sister and your friends!" he snarled, "Marry me and you will be my slave forever!"

"Lucy!" I heard a familiar voice call from behind. Slappy and I turned around and saw Bella running from out of the house, behind her was mum and dad, she must of got them out of the bathroom.

Suddenly, a flash of lightning made then stop in there tracks. 'Mum! Dad!" I shouted, the wind began to blew violently making my long vail go everywhere.

I saw Bella holding something in her hand. The card. "Bella, Read the card!" I shouted. Bella lifted the card to her face and began to read aloud.

"Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano" Bella shouted as loud as she could. "No! Stop! I order you to stop!" Slappy shouted, I could see that he was afraid. He turned to me, sort of grinning, "No matter what Lucy, you will be my bride!" he growled. "Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano" Bella shouted again. Before Slappy could do anything, he collapsed onto the ground, laying lifelessly on the grass. I glanced over my shoulder at the skeleton. "Well, looks like I'm not needed here anymore" he said. Then, he began melting back into the ground, taking the bible with him.

Immediately, I ran to my parents and gave them a big hug. None of us said anything, I don't think any of us wanted to talk. I was just glad that me and my family was safe.
