The Angel and the Devil

Coming out.

The next day i flew into the In Between as soon as i got dressed and waited hoping that he would come fast.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest and I felt so scared that he would not show up at all but then i heard the Flapping of Wings and he soon appeared from afar behind clouds of dust.

"Good Morning!" He said.

".... Good morning..." i replied.

" Are you alright?" he asked concerned.

" Why didn't you mention that you were the prince?"

"I... I'm sorry. Are you the Princess of the Heavens?"

Shocked i slowly replied" ye...s. We are enemies, but! I feel something... special. You are not evil like i have always been told! I can see.. you are kind."

" I don't understand why my parents always said that you were evil either. The angels are beautiful creatures, unlike us... we are creatures of the night. Hidious beasts. " he said angrily.

I cupped his face in my hands and placed my forehead against his.

" No. You are as equally beautiful."

He blushed and i realised what i said and i turned around quickly turning red as a tomato.

" Um.. no that's not...!" i said embaressed.

He chuckled and grabbed my hand and gave it a quick peck. I blushed again.

" Meet me here tomorrow?"he asked.

" Yes." i replied ,smiling.

For days on end we met and talked. I told him about my Family and he told me about his. We were both only children and we had much in common.

On many occasions he would come listen to me play violin and i would stand on the balcony playing, every so often taking a peek at the In Between to see him standing behind a tree listening intently. Then getting scolded for playing a off note and all i could do was giggle knowing it was all because of him.

At the end of the year winter had already come and it was very cold. The wind was so terrible that i could not go out to see Daichi. Also mother wanted me to stay indoors, for it was too cold.

It was a long winter but every day i would sneak out and leave a letter at the very edge of the barrier and find one from him waiting for me.

We wrote each other every day and every day that passed i fell more and more in love with him. When it finally began to become a little bit more warm, i decided i would confess my love for him.

I knew that even though we would probably not be able to be together, I wanted to. I was going to so on my next letter i said for him to meet me On the first day the Flowers bloom.

So when i woke up that morning and peeked out my window to find the Lilies blooming , i excitedly got dressed and ate breakfast. I ran outside and flew past the barrier and there he was not far away smiling. i flew straight into his arms and hugged him tightly.

" It's been so long!" i said.

" Indeed. " He replied.

" I missed you..." i said quietly.

He didn't say anything, just took me into a giant hug. He was warm. I snuggled in closer trying to take his warmth.

I stepped away. " I want to tell you some thing. "

" What is it?"

" I... I ... I lo-"

I was cut off by my mother yelling for me.

" I am sorry i have to go! i will tell you tomorrow!!"

I flew off and before entering the house picked a few lilies.

"Hello Mother! "

"what were you doing?"

"I was just picking flowers."

"Come inside."

" Yes mother."

I walked into the sitting area and my father was sitting next to the fire chatting with a handsome man, probably around my age.

" Hello." i said to the man.

" So this is Sakura! Well you are far more beautiful than i could have imagined!" he said.

" thank you..um... might i ask who you are?" I replied.

" This is Keiichi. He will be your fiance." my mother said.

" Fiance?!" i replied.

" Yes, it's an arranged marriage. He is very kind. "

" I need some time on my own, excuse me ." i said as i walked out of the room.

I sunk down into my bed and i felt tears start to emerge. An arranged marriage? It was too much.
