Charlie's POV
I looked out of the jet's window, and saw glimmering turquoise waters.
"Ohmygosh, that's beautiful..." I murmured to myself.
"You are now overlooking the North Pacific Ocean," a breezy Australian voice said over the intercom.
I grabbed my Canon Powershot SX30 IS and snapped a few pictures.
"Would you care for some refreshments?" the Australian voice asked.
"Uhm. Yes, please." As soon as I said the word yes, a small TV screen the size of an iPad rose from under my armrest in front of my face. The menu on the screen had so many choices. My finger hovered over the screen as my eyes darted across the screen looking for the word "Drinks". I touched it and a new set of choices appeared on the screen in alphabetical order. I flipped through the pages, and finally found what I was looking for. I pressed the Lemonade option.
A few seconds passed by when suddenly a small tray appeared from an opening in the wall, probably connected to the kitchen place, with my lemonade on it.
"Thank you," I said to no one in particular as I took my lemonade and placed it on my table.
"You're welcome, dahling" the voice said back.
I reclined on the comfy leather seat, and made a grab for the latest Seventeen magazine. I saw myself on the cover along with big letters saying "British Sensation Charlotte Knight Steal Her Fashion Tricks+Read About Her Upcoming Movies"
Sighing, I stowed the magazine away, and looked out of the window again. Gorgeous emerald green and sapphire blue.
Straw in hand, I sipped on the sweet lemonade. Refreshing, it reminded me of summer with my cousins in Ireland.
Which reminded me of Will. Will was one of my cousin, Alexis', childhood friends. I was pretty sure that he and I had something going on this summer.
My cousins had invited his family over for dinner, and it wasn't the first time Will and I had met, so we started talking. It was a few minutes before the food would be served, when Will took my hand and pulled me away towards my cousins' house's garden. One moment he'd been looking into my eyes, and the next moment he was kissing me. I didn't try to stop him either. We abrutly pulled away when we heard someone gasp. Which was my cousin, Jake who was 11 and thought kissing was disgusting. He ran away screaming, as Will and I giggled and went back to the dinner table, where Jake was already telling everyone who would listen that he saw Will and I snogging.
A few weeks of holding hands, hugging and kissing passed as it was time for me to go back to England. I'd visited Will's house to say goodbye and maybe have a goodbye kiss, to find him making out with Alexis. He broke my heart, and Alexis had betrayed me. She knew that I'd taken an interest in Will... I left Ireland depressed and crying on the jet home.
I'd show them both. I'd show them that I was strong, successful and amazing, something they'd never be. I whipped out my cellphone from my back pocket and started texting Will and Alexis.
On a private jet going to Elite Academy. Gonna be successful unlike you two. Have a great life together, you miserable ass's. Bye, Charlie(;
Send.
I let out a sigh of relief, and smiled at myself. Charlotte McKenna Knight was going to have a new life. Elite Academy would train me to be my best and push myself to do better.
"We'll be landing in a few minutes. Please fasten your seatbelt, Charleh." announced the Australian voice.
I nodded, and looked out the window once more.
'I'm coming Elite Academy, watch out!' I thought to myself.
This was a whole new world I'd be entering, and I'd be competing for the best.
I knew I could do it.
Pinning up my bangs, I took in a deep breath as the jet took a plunge down towards the Big Island.
"Okay, hun. There's gonna be a lot to explain, and you can't repeat this to anyone. We're going to be landing on a private runway near the waterfall where the Academy is hidden. You know that Elite Academy is hidden behind a waterfall somewhere in the Big Island. There's a pathway that goes into the waterfall, you need to walk that. Don't be afraid to get wet, because it's somehow programmed to part the waterfall when they sense an ePod. So don't lose that and never forget it. Behind the waterfall is a short hidden passage which leads to a beach. It's called the Athena Beach, because Athena is the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology. Anyways, we have a couple of private yachts that Elite Academy owns, which will bring you to a private island; Elite Island. Got that?" the Australian voice explained.
That was a lot to remember.
"I'm sure I'll be fine.." my voice wavered with nervousness. But I was excited. This was Elite Academy, where girls with all kinds of talents would be gathered. We'd compete against each other, and the last one standing's dreams would come true, and she'd be the most successful young woman of the 21st century.
And I would do my best to become that young woman.
The emerald green waters shimmered brightly as we neared Hawaii.
This was my time to shine.
