His body shivers and it quivers
Against the cold and biting air
The snow is sticking to his clothes
It's getting stuck inside his hair.
He's never felt a cold so spiteful
The blizzard seeping at his life
He slowly lowers his defences
Finding it harder to survive
Then slowly, surely and with purpose
The shivering comes to a stop.
He starts taking off his clothes
The snow continuing to drop
The cold is seeping through his skin
And it is flowing through his veins
The cold is now within his heart
Like an ice pack for his pains.
They always wonder why he's rude
Or why his voice just lacks a tone
But with the snowing and the freezing
His heart has slowly turned to stone
And they sometimes wonder why
He's underdressed when there's a storm
But when your soul is always cold
It's nice to show your body's warm.
He can no longer feel his limbs
The cold is crawling to his heart
Just like the girl, he's held by darkness.
This is how people fall apart.
Quote is from the song "World So Cold" by Three Days Grace
