Diego was taken to the Academia infirmary. I sat in the waiting room, hoping that Diego was ok. What if he dies? A nurse gave me a towel to wipe the blood off my hands. My claws had reverted back to normal fingernails, but it still freaked me out that I was able to cause such an injury.
“Kefira! Are you ok?” Gaia asked as she and Kimi ran into the infirmary. She wrapped her arms around me, giving me a massive hug.
“Gaia...can’t...breathe.”
“Oh, sorry.” Gaia released her grip.
“Are you ok? We heard that you were taken here during your training,” Kimi said.
“I’m fine.”
“Then why are you here?” Kimi asked.
I explained to them about what happened with Diego.
“Is he going to be alright?” Gaia asked.
“Not sure. I’m still waiting for the doctor to tell me what’s going on.”
Dex stumbled into the room, his bag half open and all sorts of cables and wires ready to fall out.
“I came as soon as I could. What’s going on?” Dex panted.
Gaia explained to him what had happened, and we all took a seat, waiting for the doctor.
“Hey Dex?” I asked
“Yeah?”
“Where’s Lock?” He hadn’t turned up, plus he didn’t come and check up on me earlier. I was kinda worried. Was he ok?
“He’s at...um, training. Yeah, he’s training,” Dex said. I shot him my I-don’t-believe-you look. I was about to challenge him, but the doctor appeared.
“How’s Diego?” I asked.
“He’ll be fine. All Supers have accelerated healing, so he should barely have a scar by tomorrow.” The doctor walked away.
“Thank God,” I sighed in relief.
“Excuse me, Kefira?” A voice asked. Standing by the door was Clarissa, the girl who I tracked yesterday.
“Yeah?”
“Mr Ashton wants to see you in his office. Immediately,” she said, and then left. Oh no, I was being sent to the principal’s office. I started freaking.
“Kefira, it’s gonna be ok,” Gaia said, giving me a hug. She was defiantly a hug person.
I gave her a small smile, and stood up, ready to go and face Jason.
“Hey guys?” I asked.
“What?” Kimi asked.
“Where is Jas- I mean Mr Ashton’s office?”
“Come on. I’ll show you,” Dexter offered.

As we walked, I bombarded Dex with questions about Lock’s whereabouts, but he just kept repeating the same thing over and over.
“He’s at training Kefira.”
“You keep telling me that but I just don’t believe you.”
“It’s the-”
“Don’t you dare tell me it’s the truth Poindexter Cole. I know you’re lying. Why won’t you tell me where Lock is?”
“First, please don’t use my full name. It’s embarrassing. Secondly, you have to trust me that I’m doing this for a reason. You have to believe that. Please?”
