2 months later
Crimson, along with hundreds of other sky wings were being herded down the stone streets of the sky region of the dragon city into the large Capital building, the place where the sky wing queen lived and ruled. Sky wing soldiers stood on both sides of the cluster. The mountains stretched into the early morning sky.
This can't be good. He thought, taping his talons together nervously as he trudged toward the sky wing capital building.
Finally he made it. Queen Garnet came out in full chainmail onto a stone platform that stood above the marble courtyard interior, followed by 2 sky wings in full battle plate tungsten armor.
She was a large sky wing, but she was kind, until you got on her bad side. For those dragons, her temper was short and her fire was long and painful.
"Hello, subjects." She said in her gentle but proud voice. "I have called you here today to tell you the recently deceased war council has decided to go to war with the scavengers." Gasps came from the crowd.
"The other sky wing leaders and I have made a test to figure out what everyone's role will be in this war.
Most of you will fight, some will make weapons and armor, some will be field medics and cooks, and the rest will get supplies or care for the tribe's young." She said. "Please follow the soldiers to your designated training area." She added and strolled off the platform.

"Get in line." Said a soldier as the battalion of soldiers pushed the sky wings into line.
The line seemed to crawl slower and slower. So he thought. What if I get sent onto the front lines. I'm not cut out for front line combat.
But they thought he was.
50 minutes later
"Let's see." Said a soldier after Crimson finished the tests. "Your test scores say you are a front line soldier, dismissed." He said.
Crimson was shocked. He had never been in combat.
As he walked out, he was brought to a group of big sky wings. The majority of them looked nervous, the rest emotionless or proud.
A sky wing general (Crimson could tell by her armor) walked up to the front of the crowd of future soldiers.
"Hello, I am general Amber, your new commanding officer, so do what I tell you and we'll get along fine. We ship out tomorrow, so once I show you your beds, get some rest." She said. And walked away, motioning for them to follow.
They eventually came to an open field filled with weapons and armor.
"You'll train here. Find something that you like and fits you, then get used to it. See you all at sunset. As crimson trained, he learned that a light sword and shield with no armor suited him pretty well. So he spent hours perfecting it and getting used to the gear in his talons.
Then they walked for a little while, then reached a room full of cots.
"Pick a bed and get some rest, you're going to need it." She said.
Crimson picked a cot in the corner. He dropped his gear by his cot and fell onto it. He wasn't tired, but he wished he was, because his mind raced about what would happen in the months to come.
I hope this war is going to be a short one. Crimson thought.
He could hear the uneasy movements of other dragons having the same conversations with themselves.
Finally, after hours of waking anxiety, he was finally able to sleep.
The next morning.
"Get up!" Yelled general Amber.
It was before dawn, and dark.
"Single file line."She said as all the sky wings fell in line. They were served a light breakfast, gathered their gear and followed general amber through the halls of the base. Then they flew south and crimson looked up at the two visible moons overhead. Off into the world. Crimson thought, and away from everything I've ever known.
The dragons flew for hours, and reached the front lines by mid day.
The campsite was in between the swamps and the desert.
"Step up, time to meet your new squad." Said general Amber.
She gave each dragon a small scroll, that had the squad's name and the location of their tent.
"You are in the jade squad, soldier." She said handing crimson a scroll
He followed the detections on the map, passing by dragons from every tribe. Then he made it. He opened the tent flap to see 6 dragons, each from a different tribe.
"Sup." Said the sea wing, who was a blue green color. "I'm hammerhead." She added.
"Crimson." He replied.
"Crimson, that's a weird name, your more of a maroon red I think. I'm parrot." Said the rain wing, a guy who pulsed a pink and an orange color.
"I'm willow," said a dark brown girl mud wing.
"Snowball." Said a dark blue male ice wing.
"I'm wing breaker." Said a guy night wing.
"Scorpion." Said a tan, guy sand wing.
"Well now that that's out of the way, tell us more about your powers, wing breaker." Said parrot.
"So, if I wanted to I could read your most inner thoughts, and you would go crazy. It's happened before, but sadly, I can't read thoughts while C.O.s are around or I could learn crucial information, get captured, and ruin this whole war." Said wing breaker.
"How could tiny scavengers capture a dragon?" Said scorpion confidently.
"Have any of you even seen a scavenger before?" Said Crimson.
"I have once." Willow paused and sighed. "They're small, but have incredibly advanced stuff. They have paws, stand on two feet and are about 6 feet tall." She said. "If you live on the edge of the mud wing swamps, you deal with a lot of strange things. My family . . ." She added.
"I'm sorry." Said Crimson. "You don't need to finish."

They talked for hours, until general Amber came in and told them to get some rest.
Crimson could somehow rest easier in the company of his newfound friends.
The following day.
A very loud horn rang in the distance, signaling the time to wake up, but outside the moons were in their midnight position. Then Crimson heard a buzzing sound and a huge ball of flame erupted on the far side of the camp.
The scavengers. Crimson thought.
"We're under attack!" Crimson yelled.
