Captive

Crimson woke up with a huge pain in his back. He looked through metal eye slits. He turned his head to see chains wrapped around his shoulders, holding him up over a small scavenger lab. Several wires stuck out of the metal shell crimson was in. The scavengers hustled around the lab below, muttering random things. His shoulders ached from the stress the chains had put on them. Crimson's tail was free to lash around, but it was out of reach of anything. Crimson looked down and tried to open his mouth to melt the scavengers below, but it was bound shut with chains.
Sometimes, through gaps in the body shell crimson was in, scavengers came up and injected him with something. His daily schedule had a lot of sleeping, waking up, getting injections, then going to sleep again. He tried to move his wings and lift himself up, but whenever he tried to, his back erupted in enormous pain.
As what seemed like days went by, the more crimson's hope faded. The pain in his back became less and less of a problem. Then one day, the scavengers seemed incredibly excited, or anxious, or some sort of blurred line in between.
One though, the one who seemed to be in charge.
"We'll be heroes," said one smiling.
"Yes, the ice wing serum will, at least, reverse the dragon's powers, at most, a slow and painful death for humanity's worst enemy." Said the one in charge.
Today they had been bombastically loud.
Who's humanity? Crimson thought. Could it be the scavenger leader's name? If so, what what in the moons kind of name was humanity.
Crimson thought back to his lesson on the scavengers.
They call themselves humans, he recalled his night wing teacher telling him.
Oooooohh, he thought. Wait ice wing serum, death? I need to get out of here. Oo, idea.
Crimson summoned all of the scolding hot fire inside him, then pushed it to his mouth. He started to feel the burning when the metal around his mouth started to melt. The liquid metal fell on top of the scientist in charge. He let out a high pitch scavenger scream. The other scavengers looked up in terror. Crimson let out an incredibly loud roar. Armed scavengers instantly burst through a door and started shooting Crimson. The bullets bounced harmlessly off crimson's once prison, now armor. He quickly burned and dismissed them. He melted his chains and fell to the ground. His back still hurt, but bearably so. He burst through the wall and took to the sky. He took a couple of strafe runs over the base to insure that everything flammable was in flames, everything meltable was melted, and everything else was destroyed. Only after his rage episode did crimson realize his back ironically burned with excruciating pain.
So he landed, tore his armor prison off, but took a chunk with him, hoping it would make up for his failed strike.
2 days later
Crimson had passed out after seeing the palace that now had been disguised as a mountain.
"Crimson." A voice said. "Wake up!"
Crimson's eyes burst open to see Jade squad standing in front of him.
"Sup." Crimson said as casually as possible.
"Hello, captain Crimson." Said parrot, with a smile.
"Well that's the least official way to announce a promotion." Crimson replied.
"How's this 'hey Crimson, sir, congrats on the promo to captain." Said wing breaker.
"About the same." Crimson replied.
"Well, sir, the queens have another assignment for us." Said snowball
As they walked through the wooden council doors past the 4 guards, the queen of the sky wings said.
"Crimson, good, how did your assignment go?"
"The convoy was bait, I was ambushed by the scavengers and taken prisoner. Then it seemed like I was studied. When I escaped, I destroyed the base." Crimson answered.
"Wonderful, so it was a success." Said Ruby.
"Well we have a new mission for you and your team." Said queen clear sight.
"The leader of the scavenger city is a high value target obviously, and to lure him out into wasting his resources, Jade squad, you are being tasked with kidnapping the scavenger's daughter."
The mud wing queen said. "Crimson and scorpion, you will be the two who lure her to the extraction point, the rest, under the confusion of a small assault, will intercept and bring the daughter here."
"Understood, your majesties." Crimson
said. "Jade squad, let's move!"
"You will need to go see the animus dragons to help you take scavenger form, then to our scavenger phycologists to help you get into character." Said queen clear sight.
And with one finally bow, Jade squad left.
The following day
Crimson sat aboard the scavenger bird with scorpion next to him. He still wasn't used to standing on 2 legs. 'Ethan and Marcus' their scavenger names, were supposedly being sent to the scavenger city by their parents on what the scavengers called a Saturday.
Their objective was to gain access to the scavenger princess's home and lure her away from the presumably well guarded building to the extraction point.
"We're landing." Said the scavenger pilot.
As the doors opened from the aircraft's belly, crimson saw countless young scavengers gathered, and the princess was walking around, UNGUARDED, greeting all the scavengers. She had a clump of long brown hair on the top of her head, opposite to the short blonde hair on top of both crimson and scorpion's head. She was around five foot tall, like crimson and scorpion and all the young males seemed to be staring at her. Then she came over to them and said,
"Hi, I'm Serena."
"I'm Ethan and this is Marcus, we're twins in case you couldn't tell." Crimson said.
"Nice to meet you," she said.
"Feelings mutual," replied scorpion.
"Well good." She replied with a smile.
"Hey, um we're kind of new here and-" crimson was cut short by scorpion.
"We need a place to stay."
"Oh yeah, you can stay at the palace. Its really nice." She replied.
"Great." Crimson said.
Well that was easy. Now just to keep her attention for a few hours until the attack. Crimson nodded to scorpion and Serena looked at them in confusion.
