I walked to the booth filled with a rowdy group of men. As I passed out their drinks one guy decided to try their luck.

"Aye ma, let me get your number."

I scoffed, rolling my eyes while grabbing the tray and walked to the kitchen.

"That's alright! You wasn't all that anyway!" Ouch. I've been working here for about five months and this always happens. As I walked back, one of the cooks, Michael, looked up at me.

"You ok bey? I know some of the things people say can be hurtful

"You ok bey? I know some of the things people say can be hurtful." I looked into his sweet brown eyes and smiled. He's been so sweet to me since I started working here. And his eyes are beautiful. He's actually really, really sexy. Not as much as Shawn, but he's a close second. Wait a second, why am I even thinking about that guy. I haven't ran into him since the park all those months ago.

"I'm fine, Michael. It's a part of the job."

"That's true. So are you free tonight after your shift?" He said with a hopeful grin. I smiled at him. I haven't even thought about dating right now. Maybe fantasizing, but not dating.

"Unfortunately, no. I have to go get my son."

"Oh. Well, maybe next time?"

"Definitely." We stood smiling at each other before another cook nudged Michael and told him to finish the order. He broke his stare and finished what looked like a bacon and spinach omelet.

"Can you take this to table 8?"

"Sure thing." I grabbed the tray and went out of the kitchen.

I'm finally off of my shift. I walk to the bus stop and sit on one of the benches.. The bus doesn't get here till 8:30. It's only 8:15. The only reason I'm taking the bus is because Kelly wanted to see my car to go to the club. I didn't have a problem with it since I was staying in her home so I let her.

As I wait a group of guys walk past me drinking beers and smoking . The same ones from earlier and I immediately curl up trying not to be seen. My attempt to not be seen obviously didn't work when one of the guys shouted to the others that they recognized me.

"Aye, Chris! Ain't that the fine ass waitress with an attitude problem?" Chris turned his head and I felt my heart drop to my ass.
