to the sound

of metals

clinking against

each other

and a soft hum

coming

from the kitchen.

i knew

the tears

that fell from

my eyes as

i stared up at

the ceiling,

take me away.

but i didn't,

and you came

in the room

with a glass

of water

and told me

to breathe.
