I was confused. I couldn't tell if I was awake or asleep because things didn't make sense. I heard random phrases like, "Immediate surgery" and "lucky to be here".
I was confused at some of the big words that they used. All I know is that I wanted my mommy. Every time that I could feel something it would be pain and I would start twitching. Then I would hear someone say something and then nothing.
I went on like this for some time and all I could think about was if my mom was okay.
I went to sleep again and was awoken again because of a nightmare. It was about the accident. The words, 'Carlisle' kept going around in my head. Soon enough, I heard the voices again.
"Oh honey. No, no, no. How could I have been so stupid. I'm going to need you to wake up, alright. Open your eyes for mommy." That's when I could open my eyes.
"Mommy." I could barely say the words. A wave of pain hit me and I hurt everywhere.
"She's awake. Doctor!" Someone shouted, leaving the room.
"I love you so much, Lillian. I'm so sorry. will you forgive me?" I looked around the room to see my mother by the side of the bed. The room had a T.V. bed, chairs, and a little bathroom in the corner. I looked over at my mommy to see her. She was beautiful.
Instead of trying to talk I nodded. I didn't understand why she was apologizing. "I love you to, mommy." Just as a whispered those words to her, a man in a white coat came in. He was like a ghost! But his eyes were really pretty, like honey.
"How are you feeling, Lillian?" He asked. I didn't answer because mommy told me not to talk to strangers. "Mommy, I want to go home." I looked at my mommy to see her looking sad. "I want to go home." I started to cry.
"I'm sorry Lillian. Your mother didn't make it." I looked at the doctor and glared. "Mommy is right here!" I yelled pointing a finger in the direction that my mom was in.
The doctor looked confused and then looked at the clipboard. "I'll be back in just one second. Here's some cartoons to keep you occupied. He took the remote and turned to T.V. to Spongebob Squarepants. It was my favorite show.
He then proceeded to walk out of the room.
Squidward: Could you not stand so close? You're making me claustrophobic.
Patrick: What does claustrophobic mean?
Spongebob: It means he's afraid of Santa Claus.
Squidward: No, it doesn't.
Patrick: Ho, ho, ho! (giggles)
Spongebob: Stop it, Patrick, you're scaring him!
Patrick: Ho, ho, ho!
Squidward: It's not working, Patrick.
Patrick: Darn.
Just then, the doctor came in with other people. I quickly looked at them and then back to the T.V. There was three women and three men. They were all like a ghost and had honey eyes. That must be his family. I looked over at mommy to see her looking at me and smiling. I beamed at her.
I love my mommy so much. "Edward, what's she thinking?" I looked over at them curiously, then back to my mother. "Mommy, tell them your right here!" Why didn't anyone believe me!
"Carlisle, she really believes that she's beside her bed." The man with the weird hair said. I scowled at them and then frowned when a wave a pain came at me. "Mommy, I'm tired and I hurt." I said.
"Honey, go to sleep. The medicine is wearing off. Where does it hurt?" I pointed everywhere at my body. "here and here, and here, and here, and-" I stopped when Carlisle came over.
"Carlel! Mommy told me to answer the phone and it was you!" I said, proud to know the answer.
I yawned, and then cried out. It hurt to move my face. "I'm going to give you some more medicine that will stop the pain but it's not going to make you sleepy like before. For now, I'm going to leave with my son, Edward to talk to him, alright? I want you to talk to Rosalie and Emmett."
"Wow." was all I said when I looked at Rosalie and Emmett. "Your really pretty! Your HUGE!" I pointed to the blond girl then to the really huge guy. Rosalie smiled while Emmett grinned.
We spent some time getting to know each other and I found out that they were married. They wanted to adopt a child but didn't know if they could. I didn't know what they were talking about so I just nodded and smiled. They said some jokes but I didn't understand them.
Later, Carlisle came in and explained that I was hurt really bad and couldn't leave for a couple of weeks but that Rosalie and Emmett would keep me company because they love me. Carlisle tried to tell me that my mommy was dead and that the reason I thought she was there was because of my imagination. I cried when they told me that I had to be adopted because no one else could take me in.
Then I told Emmett that I wanted him to be my daddy and Rosalie to be my mommy (mommy told me to say that) and they were happy. Alice and jasper told me to call them Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice and that they were gonna spoil me rotten. They laughed when I told them that I am not rotten. I didn't know what the word spoil meant and when they told me what it did mean I told them that I was okay with getting presents.
On the last day that I had to be in the hospital, they made me get up and walk around. At first it was hard and I almost fell down a lot but after an hour I could walk without falling down. It hurt though. I was told that my leg was broken and I could walk on it because of the cast. My arm arm and some of my ribs were broken but I didn't know what that meant.
"Are you ready to leave?" My new mommy said. "Yeah, don't forget Teddy, Ellie, Frankie, and Patch!" I shouted at daddy. They were my best friends.
"Alright, we won't forget your teddy bear, panda pillow pet, stuffed dog, or Elmo." Daddy said. I beamed at him, proud. I was also taught how to walk with crutches so I could walk without hurting myself. I didn't like them.
Eventually we all got in the car and I was taken to my new house in Alaska.
