Chapter 05:
Mable was a twenty-four year old women that has never actually spoken a single word to me due to the fact that she was in an self-induced coma for eight months. The doctors told me that she tried killing herself by speeding into a tree and got herself in a coma. I remember the day I decided to visit Mable.
7 months ago:
I was on my way to see Tom after visiting Desiree, when I passed by an open door with an absolutley beautiful women laying on the bed. She was so beautiful that I found myself in a trance as I stared at her intoxicating looks.
"Quite a looker, isn't she?" A voice behind me said. I glanced over my shoulder to see a doctor gazing at the exquisite young women that I myself was so transfixed with. At the time, I had been visiting paitents at the hospital for a year and a half, and I had never seen somebody that god damn alluring and beautiful.
She was so pretty that I found it odd that she doesn't have family and friends surrounding her. I must have spoken my thoughts out loud because the doctor said,
"We looked into her file. She left an orphanage about three and a half years ago when she turned twenty and could no longer stay. Mother died about five years ago, father's not in her life. No family." How does somebody have no family? I sympathized with her, because I had lost my grandfather. I knew what that was like. It was then that I promised to visit her.
So that when she wokeup, she wouldn't see an empty room and a life that she tried to escape, she'd see me. I'd be there. Some people can still hear while their in a coma, so maybe when she wokeup she'd know who I was. Either way, I'd do it.
I remember asking the doctor who payed for her hospital bills and life suppourt.
"That is confidential. But to be honest, I don't know. Any communication with the hospital is done over the phone and he mails the money in cash, god knows how, instead of checks with his name. I've gathered that he is wealthy. She's been in here for a good month, and a man has visited her twice. I suspect it could be him, but I don't know."
"What happened to her?" I said it more to myself as I gazed over all of the wires that were hooked to her body.
"Ran her car into a tree. The man that witnessed said she aimed for the tree dead on, crying. Damn shame." And you know what?
It was a damn shame.

I snapped back into the present and entered Mable's room, hoping for the best and expecting the worst. I always got the worst. I sighed with a heavy heart as I took a seat next to the unconcious Mable. If it weren't for the slight rise and fall of her chest and the steady monotonus beep of the heart monitor, she would of looked dead.
"Hey Mable, It's Arielle." I always told her it was me in some deluded hope she'd wake up and know me and my identity. "You know, I'm getting really tired of me putting all the effort into this friendship, I always get the silent treatment." I paused and chuckled at my dry humor, my gaze fixing off into the distance over her body.
"But it's okay, because you're a great listener. Ohmygod Mable, you will not believe the predicament I have gotten myself into. I met a boy, and no, I am not talking about that boy Noah I told you about a few weeks ago. God if you can hear me I probably sound like a little skank, hopping between boys. But it's really not like that, just hear me out." I paused again and then smirked. "Well, you don't really have a choice."
"So I've discovered that Noah is a jerk, but I will tell that story another time. Beau on the other hand is a sarcastic condecending bastard that absolutley makes my heart soar. I've never felt this, Mable. And it's honeslty fucking scary, because I haven't exactly known him for long. It just feels right. He is an amazing boy." I paused once again, thinking about how great it felt to be able to talk to this. I rested my gaze on her face before countinuing.
