Renegade cantered slowly around the outside ring of the arena. He bobbed his head with every stride. I loved these moments where it would seem like it was just us. It was perfect. I turned him around a barrel and jumped over a small cavaletti pole. Renegade loved to jump, even though he is a Western horse. I was about to jump a larger cavaletti when something caugt my eye. It was Harry. He was sitting on top of Demon, smirking at me. Renegade got distracted, too. He didn't look where he was going and he crashed into the small jump. I flew off of him, landing a few feet away from the jump. I was winded. I looked over at Renegade. He was laying on the ground, thrashing wildly. That's when I blacked out.
"It was just a dream. It was just a dream." I played those five words over and over in my head. I slowly opened my eyes to see that I wasn't in my room. It was a hospital room. "Oh, you're awake!" I heard a friendly voice say. I turned my head, with a lot of pain involved, to see a woman in her 30s. She had brown hair and beautiful green eyes. "I'm Amelia." She said. "Do you know why you're here?" She asked. I shook my head. "Well, it seems you have fallen off your horse and suffered a major concussion." She sighed, looking at her clipboard. "You managed to break your right wrist. And for your horse, well, he managed to break his left hind leg." I was in shock. I felt like this was so much to take in. I started bawling. A horse's broken leg means that it is normally certain death. I freaking hate you Harry Styles! "Noelle says you haven't fallen off in years. What was the cause, if you remember?" She asked me. I managed to muster out a few words. "Harry Styles." "Were you daydreaming about him and you just got distracted?" She pulled off a far-away look. "N-No. He's been riding at my barn and he distracted me and my horse. That's when Renegade tripped." I breathed out. She gasped. "What a horrible person!" I nodded my head slowly, ignoring the pain in my head.
I felt warm arms wrap around me gently. I opened my eyes to see blue ones staring into mine. "Hello love!" He said softly, kissing me on the forehead. "Get away from me!" I said, trying to wriggle out of his grasp. Amelia looked like she was about to burst. "Why love?" He asked, letting me go. "It was your gay friends fault that I'm in this mess! HE KILLED MY HORSE!" I yelled, covering myself with the blanket. I shrieked of pain in my head and my arm.
"Love, he didn't mean to. He was just watching!" He said, trying to pull off the blanket.
"Say that to the evil smirk he had plastered on his ugly face!" I said, slapping Niall with my good hand. He cupped his cheek in his hand. He really did look hurt. I watched him as he stormed out of the room, Amelia following close behind.
"I don't want anything to do with your freaking band." I said to the pillow, closing my eyes. Blackness surrounded me as I immediatly fell asleep.
"Wake up sleepy head! We're going home!" A loud voice interrupted my thoughts.
"This better not be the idiot Irishman." I mumbled as two arms picked me up. I winced of pain in my right arm.
"Nope, not the Irishman. Just Louis!" Oh great.
"I said I don't want anything to do with your stupid band." I mumbled, opening my eyes. He was carrying me out of the hospital. "And Renegade isn't there. That place is no longer home." I blinked away a tear. Louis put me in a seat in a van and sat in the drivers spot. No one else was there.
"Where is everyone?" I said.
"At the barn." He replied simply.
"Oh." I said, wishing that there would have been someone here other than him. The car ride was quiet. It was silent, actually. We finally arrived at the barn. I stumbled out of the van, almost falling. Louis caught me with his strong arms. "Here, put this on." He handed me a sling. I stuck my arm in it as Louis fastened it around my neck. I then followed him up the path.
The barn was quiet. It was almost too quiet. I was still following Louis. He was walking to the arena.
"Here, look at this." He said, walking to the middle of it. I could see some red spots on the ground. Blood.
"Why would you want to show me this?" I mumbled.
"I don't know. I probably shouldn't have." He said, looking at me with a sorry smile.
"Whatever." I sighed, following him. He walked to the Western Barn. I sighed, walking inside. I slowly walked over to Renegade's empty stall. I leaned against the closed stall door, sinkin to the ground. I buried my head in my knees and cried. A large hand was placed on my back."
"It's ok. It'll be alright love. He's in good hands." Louis softly said to me. I weeped a bit more. "I gotta go." He said quickly, walking out of the barn. I sighed, looking up. A few horses were looking at me, their eyes riddled with confusion. I slowly stood up, taking one last look at Ren's stall. I walked swiftly up to the house to see Noelle sitting on the couch with the rest of One Direction. I walked over to Harry and kicked him hard where the sun doesn't shine. He yelled out in pain as Noelle gasped at me. "THAT WAS FOR KILLING MY HORSE!" I yelled, running up the stairs. Yeah, I can get violent. I plopped on my bed, pulling off the sling. "I FREAKING HATE YOU HARRY STYLES!" I started to weep quietly, knowing I was to get a beating from Noelle soon. Instead, Liam walked in the door. He sat down next to me, wrapping his arms around me. I didn't care who was hugging me, I just buried my face and cried. That Harry Styles needs to learn not to take a horse away from me.
"I hate him." I cried.
"I know." He replied. His voice was riddled with sadness. I realized that Liam was so fatherly. If I was related to One Direction, Liam would be the father and Louis would be my brother. But I still hate them. All of a sudden, a phone rang. I released from Liam's hug and picked it up.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"This is Dr. Moore from the Equine Hospital. We have some news for you."
