Jace's pov:
I was in my room just doing normal things when my mom called me into the living room. I asked her what she wanted and she said that I made the traveling team. I got so excited. I couldn't believe it. I went right into my happy dance.😂 I asked her when the first practice would be and she said tonight at 6:00. I said ok and went back to my room to continue until it was time to leave.
*five minutes before time to leave*
It is now five minutes before we have to leave and I feel great. I got my things together then went to practice.
*at practice*
I walked over to meet my new team and saw a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. She was pretty. I just ignored her because I thought she was just there for something else.
When the coach yelled for us to come over, I went over with my new team. Nobody really talked to me. I felt alone. Maybe because I was. I had always been for some reason. Anyway the coach did his speech an asked us to say our names and explain one thing interesting about us. I was the first one to go. I was nervous, but I did it.
After some people went I noticed the girl I saw was still there. She said her name was Arielle. Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
On our way back I asked her if she wanted to throw with me. She said," sure" nervously. I told her there was no need to be nervous, she already made the team.
After we were done throwing we did some more drills then went into the dugout for a break. The coach did one more speech then gave us five minutes to talk to each other before our next drill. I talked to Arielle the whole time. We became best friends. We promised each other we would be best friends forever even if we don't see each other much after this is all over. I didn't even care that she was a girl that plays baseball. I liked her for who she was. Beautiful.
