Three words changed it all

The trap

Jace's pov:

We were told by the guy that we needed to stay together to find the fourth clue. We listened and agreed that there had to be more to the third clue. That can't be it. It can be just a guy telling us to  stick together. We knew that. Or maybe we didn't? We all knew we had to stay together but we just stayed in the same room. We didn't stay actually together. I wonder of that's what he meant.

I told Arielle and Zach about the idea. They agreed and said,"ok so let's look for the fourth clue while staying together.

Zach's pov:

We were thinking about what the clue might have meant when Jace said that we needed to stay closer together. It made so much sense. We weren't staying close enough together. That's why it was so hard to find the second clue.

We were walking around trying to find anything that would help us. Arielle said,"hey what's that." I said," what do you mean what's that there's nothing there." I realized I sounded really rude and said it again nicer. " where are you talking about?" She said," over here, there's a tile." Then Jace said,"Arielle there's tiles all over the floor." She said," no but this ones different. This one has green around it." We looked over there to see what is was when we caught her standing on it. I said," Arielle don't stand on it. That could be dangerous."

I had realized how worried I had sounded, but didn't care. Maybe I was starting to like Arielle. Maybe she wasn't that bad after all.

I ignored my feelings to help her figure out what the fourth clue was. I saw Jace going over to help her also. The tile started to levitate. As I got closer the tile started to levitate more and more. Jace had realized what the tile was doing and told me to hop on. I was very nervous but I did it. We were all in a circle on top of the tile holding on to each other for our lives. Then once I was completely on top of the tile, it started to drop right into the ground.

It felt like we were going about 100mph. We were all scared. We started to scream, as every kid would as they were being dropped down to a dark, scary place.

As we reached the bottom, I asked if everyone was ok. They both said yes and are you ok? I said yes I am fine. As we looked around the room we noticed the tile started to put out the light. It was completely pitch dark in there. We were all scared when we heard a voice yelling at us to do what the guy had told us to do. We all found each other then held on to each other. We asked him," what do we do now." He said," I have you where I want you now don't move!"

NOTE: how do you guys like the book so far? I did a little bit longer one. Not much though. Will the kids get out of the trap unharmed and continue normal life? Or will they stay down there with a creepy voice taunting them?
