Zach's pov:
We went on with our lives after the incident happened. We tried to forget about it but we couldn't.
The next day we went to our game. It was crazy. Fans were jumping up and down, parents and kids everywhere. We expected it would be some what that way, but we never thought it would be that crowded.
I played awesome the best I've ever played. I hit two doubles and a single. I also made 3 outs on the field by myself. It felt great.
Jace's pov:
We went to our game and we were wining by 4 the score was 8-4 us. All three of us did great along with our other teammates. I got two singles and a walk. Our coach tells us that a walk is just as good as a hit.
A few short innings after they had caught up to us. The score is now 9-9 and it is the top of the 7th. We usually only play until we reach 6 innings but we decided to keep going to break the tie. Plus it was a championship game and we both can't be in first.
Arielle's pov:
We left the hotel and went to the field. It took us a while to find it but we did. It was a really good field. There wasn't any bumps of dirt on the field. There wasn't any wholes to trip over.
There was a concession stand right behind the backstop. They sold hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos. They were nice to us and said we could have a free lunch after the game.
During the game, I didn't play the best. I was missing easy plays, dropping pop flys, letting ground balls go between my feet. I knew it wasn't my day. I think it was all the pressure that was on me.
I was up to bat for the fourth time. I hadn't bat good during the first three times. I struck out two of those times and the other time I had got walked. I was so nervous. I thought to myself and told me to calm down. It didn't work. I was so worked up about the pressure that was on me. I knew that it wasn't that much pressure because it's only a tournament. I still wanted to hit good.
I was up to bat. The bases were loaded. There was two outs. There was also full count, which made things even worse. The winning run was on third.(Zach) I wanted to get a hit this time. I wasn't going to let myself strike out or get walked.
This was it. The final pitch of the game. As I got ready to go into the box, I heard something. It was Zach. He told me something. He said," c'mon Arielle stay closer together!" I remember those words like I heard them two minutes ago. It was clue #3. It made me feel good that that experience was staying with Zach.
I took those words he said and used it for the final pitch. The pitcher threw the ball. I knew it was going to be a strike, so I swung at it. I was right, it was a strike. I hit it! I hit a grounder to center field. Zach scored and we all got excited. The game was over. We had won. The final score was 10-9 us.
Everyone was hugging me and yelling that I did a great job. I felt great, almost as if those errors in the field and up to bat didn't matter.
Zach was unusually happy about our win. He was the most excited and I knew why. Earlier when we were in the hotel he told me that he ha entered this tournament for years and never won. I felt great for letting him have the experience if winning furring his final game on this team.
