Take Me

Part One.

Toni was only seven when her mother passed, fourteen when father died and seventeen when she was raped at a family reunion. She's been living in her childhood home, because she's the only child and her name was in her parents will.

Severn, Maryland:

Toni lives with her one and a half year old son, Evan. She's in her third year of college and seems to be striving alright.

"Evan, you gotta eat for Mama." Toni said while forcing Evan on her right boob. He opens his mouth and begins to eat while holding her boob. She smiles while looking at Evan, but starts to wince in pain as she notices a tiny sting on her nipple. Evan apparently is teething and he accidentally bit her.

"You can't be biting Mommy, you're hurting her." Toni says while wiping hooking back her bra. Evan smiles and giggles. Toni sits down on the couch and watches "Soul Food", and cuddles with Evan.

"Mama." Evan says while looking at Toni. It's the first time he called Toni and she was an emotional wreck.

"Baby!" Toni squealed while giving Evan a dozen kisses on his face. He sucked on his finger and smiles with his thumb in his mouth, mumbling. Someone knocked on her door and it was Kenneth Edmonds.

"Hello, I noticed you weren't in Chemistry class today, so I dropped off the notes. Professor Howard gave me your address, so I just stopped by to give you the work. I gotta get going now, goodbye." Ken said while looking at his hands. She smiled and looked at him.

"Thank you..." Toni dragged out the "you", so she could catch his name. Ken laughed and finished her sentence.

"Kenneth- Kenneth Edmonds. Have a good night." Ken smiles while leaving the front of the house.

"Goodnight, Kenneth." Toni smiles while closing the door. Toni hears Evan crying, so she runs to nursery, and sees his hands up in the air wanting to be held. She sits down with Evan in her arms and he tugs on her shirt, signaling Toni that he wants to be fed. She pulls down her shirt and feeds Evan for ten minutes. She burps him and walks into her bedroom and lays Evan next to her, just staring at him. She places a kiss on his little forehead and falls asleep.

The Next Morning:

Toni wakes up at 6am and takes a shower while Evan was still sleeping. She took a ten minute shower and dried off her wet body and sees Evan pushing the bathroom door open.

"Mama" Evan says while kissing Toni's leg. She picks him up and walks into the bedroom.

"Mommy has to go back to class today, so I'll be a few hours away, okay?" Toni says while changing Evan into some fresh clothes.

"No," Evan says while crying. Toni sighs and lifts up Evan and places him into the car seat, and drives to her cousin, Tara's home, who babysits Evan for free.

"Be a good boy for Mama." Toni says while kissing his cheek. He slobs on her face and she leaves for school. Twenty minutes later, Toni arrives on Bowie State University's campus, and she doesn't talk much to anyone because she's focused on her studies. She carries a 3.9 GPA, and number seven out of four hundred and eight six students for her graduating class. She walks into her Chemistry class and sees Kenneth sitting down by himself.

"Good morning, Kenneth." Toni smiles. He smiles and waves at her. He looks down at her chest and noticed her boob area was getting a little wet.

"Umm, Toni." Ken said while pointing at her chest. She wore a plain white t-shirt and her breast milk was leaking.

"Oh God, I'm so embarrassed." Toni said while covering her chest with her arms. Ken takes off his black sweater and gives it to Toni who immediately zips it up.

"Thank you so much. Such a lifesaver." Toni blushed while looking at Ken's moisturized lips.

"You're welcome, let me ask you this. Are you a mother?" Ken asked. Toni's smile fades and she feels embarrassed.

"I am, I have a son. Why?" Toni asked. Ken smiled rubbing his face.

"I figured because your boobs just leaked and you have a motherly instinct." Ken smiled. Toni covered her mouth and laughed.

"Well thank you, I try to have a motherly instinct. Why are you so concerned about me?" Toni asked. Ken nods his head.

"You're one of the smartest girls on campus and you're very reserved. What I like about you the most is that you're very independent." Ken smiled while playing with his un-pierced earlobe.

"Thank you, don't you have girlfriend?" Toni asked. Ken nods his head.

"Nope. Had a girlfriend, named Nicole in high school. She was okay, but I left her. She was way too controlling and she slept with my brother. I'm waiting on the right one." Ken says.

"Well, I'm single. My cousin and baby father is in jail for first degree murder for killing my father. He's sentenced for life and I'm here by myself raising my baby boy." Toni said. Ken laid his hand on top of Toni's. She smirked and sighed.

"I'm really sorry. You're beautiful and you didn't deserve that." Ken said while caressing her hand. Toni gave him a kiss on his cheek then he smiled and slowly leaned into her and gave a kiss on her lips.

"Wow." Both said in unison.
