Take Me

Part Twenty Two.

Severn, Maryland:
St. Palmers Hospital:

"Toni, it's okay to cry. I know you're in pain." Ken said, wiping Toni's sweaty forehead. Every second, Toni would whine and become irritable, from each contraction.

"You did this to me. I hate you." Toni cried. She had a high tolerance for pain, which caused her to say things she didn't mean.

"I want you outta my sight, Kenneth. I can do this by myself. Leave now." Toni demanded. Ken raised his hands up in defense and left the room.

"KENNY." Toni yelled in the room. He entered back to see her stretching out her hands for him, causing him to smile.

"You want me to stay?" Ken asked. She nodded her head, and began to squeal in pain. The nurse came in to check on Toni's progression.

"You are ready to push, let me get the Doctor, and I'll be right back." Nurse Rita said. Ken became a little nervous, because it was his first biological child.

Two hours and thirty minutes later:

"One more gentle push and she'll be out." Dr. Taylor spoke. One push later, a beautiful sound graced the Earth.

"My baby girl." Toni cried, kissing Ken's lips. The nurses cleaned up the baby, into the other room.

"Umm, Doctor. I feel pain still." Toni said. Dr. Taylor's eyes widened, realizing what was going on.

"Looks like you were having twins. Breathe and push." Dr. Taylor said, while supporting the child's neck. The baby came out immediately, and made Toni even more emotional.

"It's a boy!" Ken yelled. It was such an unexpected surprise for the both of them. The nurse brought back the baby girl, while they took the baby boy into the other room. Few minutes later, the nurse had their son.

"Happy Birthday, Kennedy Evelyn & Kenneth Brian Edmonds." Toni smiled.
