Chapter 3

I laid in bed with my head against Ryan's body. My left leg laid tangled in between his legs while my left hand traced the curves of his abs. I couldn't sleep. I was still trying to figure out what happened, and how we ended up in the car. Nothing clicked except for the pain that was left in my body. I could feel the pain numbing away being replaced by a soothing feeling. I had taken my medicine before I had gotten in to bed.

Ryan had won the bet, so that means that I have to move in with him. We're going to get the... well I'm going alone, to go get my things from my parents house.  He won't go with me because no one can know about "us". I don't even think you can call us an us. I let out a frustrated sigh and turned my body away from him.  My body protested as it felt like I had been dropped from a ten story building. My shoulder had been dislocated, and my ribs bruised badly. Nothing big, but my parents is still going to flip when they see me.

“What's wrong?” Ryan asked. I couldn't see his face. Just a dark outline of him in the dark.

“Nothing.” I moved my body away from him. If he didn't want to be with me then I'm not going to force him. Tomorrow I'm leaving first thing in the morning, and I'm not coming back. I heard the soft click of the lamp letting me know that the lights was on. I opened my eyes but didn't turn around to look at him.

“Leslie, what's up? Don't say nothing, because if it was nothing you wouldn't be ignoring me.” I didn't respond; letting silence take over the room.

“Please look at me?” he begged. I didn't move a single muscle in my body. I just kept staring at the closed window in his room. I feel like I'm his sad excuse for a girlfriend, and I hate it.

“Fine if you won't look at me then I'll move in front of you.” Ryan hopped over me, and sat on the floor. He laid his chin on the vacant spot in front of my face. “Please talk to me?” he gave me his most effective puppy dog face, and I gave in.

“Are you ashamed of me?” I was ashamed to ask the question.

His face crinkled up in confusion. “Of course not! Why would you think that?”

“Then why can't I tell my parents?” he leaned back and let out a sigh. His fingers ran through his hair in frustration. “I'm not asking to tell the whole world. I just want to tell my parents who I'm dating.”

“I know, but it's complicated.” he tried explaining.

“Well you know what?”

“What, Leslie? What!” I could see his frustration just leaking out of his mouth. We had had this conversation more than once already, and I could see that both of us was tired of it.

“If it's that complicated we don't need to be together.” I got out of his bed and headed for the living room to get my shoes.

“Leslie wait!” Ryan's voice rang through the house like a siren. I turned around giving him one last chance to explain to me why is it that we have to be kept a secret. “You don't understand.”

“Then make me understand!” I wanted so badly to understand.

“I'm not safe." he tried explaining, but  it wasn't enough I needed more.

"If certain people find out it could be dangerous," I could tell he was trying to change my mind, but it still wasn't working. " but if you want your parents to know then I'll let you tell them.” he gave in. I couldn't believe what he had just said. If had to me a little bit more I would have gave in. I let out a smal laugh along with a smile. I get to tell my parents!

I ran into his arms and wrapped my legs around his waist. “Good because I really didn't want to leave you.” with that said he smashed his lips against mine and the familiar feeling of tingles started at my lips and spread through out my body. I was soon smashed in between the wall and his body.
