Disclaimer: I don't own PJO, HoO, or any of the characters (except my OCs.)
A/N: Hey guys, this is one of my favorite ideas so far! Credit to TheMidnightOwl, although she removed You Again (which is what this is based off of.)
Side note: This story takes place when they're all 21.
Another side note: I'll switch POVs. This is how I'll do it:
If it's in third person, it'll simply say the character's name, because it'll be their side of the story. If it says POV next to the name, it's first person. Sorry if that's confusing!
PS. My friend (I'm looking at you, Colorless.) pointed out that I should list the titles of each song used per chapter, and also at her request I shortened them. The one this time is called Headphones by Britt Nicole, so, pull up iTunes or YouTube and enjoy!

Annabeth POV
-
I smoothed out my hair with a brush, my blonde curls popping back up into place. The black and pink feather extensions fell perfectly with the curls.
Scanning my outfit in the mirror, I decided I was ready. Dressed in a black lace high-low skirt, black combat boots with pink laces, and a pink off-the-shoulder shirt, I was wearing my two favorite colors. Well, not completely.
I gently brushed back my hair and slid on my sapphire earrings. Blue, my all-time favorite color, reminded me too much of someone from my past who I'd missed too much. Whenever I wore the earrings, I felt as if he'd never left me.
"Annabeth? Come on, you're going on stage now!" Thalia urged, peeking through the curtains.
"Coming!" I exclaimed, clasping the earring completely.
I confidently walked through the curtains and past the security. The lights shone brightly as I stepped onto the stage.
"Hey everyone!" I said into the microphone, smiling. "Who's ready for this?"
The crowd cheered loudly, and I held the microphone away from its stand as I walked backwards. "This one's called Headphones."
I sat down at the piano and sung as my fingers danced over the glossy keys.
"Oh-woah-oh, oh-woah-oh, oh-oh-oh-woah-oh
She gave it her best,
She tried to fit in,
She tried to be cool,
But she never could win.
Her mom says she's great,
The kids think she's weird,
Honestly she wish she could disappear. Why you try, try to be like the rest of them?
When you know there's so much more within
There's only one you,
Here's what ya' gotta do.Whoa, whoa...
Anytime you feel alone, put on your headphones
Love, love's coming through your headphones
Anytime you feel alone, put on your headphones
Love, love's coming through your headphones
L-o-o-ove is coming through your headphones
L-o-o-ove is coming through your headphonesHey, you might not see it with your eyes,
But keep your head up to the sky.
The sun is coming through,
Here's what you gotta do...So keep your head up high and dust off your shoulders
Coming through your headphones
So keep your head up high and dust off your shoulders
Coming through your headphonesTwinkle, twinkle in your eye
Listen to this lullaby
The sun is shining in the sky
I see love it's in your eyesThis aint' the first time you felt like this
This ain't the first time, this ain't the first time
This ain't the last time you'll feel like this
But it'll be fine
If you can just, smile..."
The last notes faded. I took multiple deep breaths, enjoying every moment of the applause. Just knowing they like my singing keeps me going.
"Thanks, guys! I have a few more for you..."
The rest of the night passed, me singing more, signing autographs and talking to fans afterwards. Before I knew it, I was back in my hotel room, chatting with Thalia.
"This is amazing! I love being in New York City," I gushed. "So much amazing architecture!"
"I remember accidentally destroying that concert hall in the Titan War!" Thalia exclaimed, but then paused. "Sorry, I know you don't like to talk about it."
"It's fine.."
"Hey, just asking, but what happened that makes you not want to talk about it? Was it losing Luke?"
I shook my head. "It's.. nothing."
"It has to be something if you get so worked up about it whenever I bring it up," Thalia noticed.
"Fine, I guess I have to tell you at some point."
"Wait! Let me go get some popcorn!"
I gave her my "Really Thalia? Really?" look. "Do you want me to tell you or not?"
"Just tell me!"
"Okay.." I took a deep breath and wiped my palms on the jeans I had changed into. "Well, remember how afterwards... Percy and I kissed?"
"Twice, if my memory's right."
"Yeah..."
"Carry on."
"Well, it was amazing. I loved every second, and was overjoyed when Percy officially asked me out later."
"Wait, isn't he famous now, like you?"
"Yeah. That's the problem."
"How so?"
"I was in love with him, 100%. He knew I liked him, but didn't know I loved him." Tears stung at the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill. "When we both became famous, offered record deals from different companies, we had to break up. But I didn't know it meant forever."
"Oh my gods... I didn't know all that!"
"Yeah.." A tear slid down my cheek. "I miss him, Thalia. I miss my Percy. I regret taking that record deal."
Thalia attempted to comfort me by giving me a hug. "Even if you hadn't accepted, Percy probably would have taken his still, and you'd be at camp, miserable."
"That's true." I wiped the tear from my face. "Night, Thalia. I'm going to bed."
I trudged down the hall, trying to save the tears for my pillow. Once I removed my makeup and changed into pajamas, I flopped onto the bed. Not caring anymore, I simply let all the tears flow out, no restraints whatsoever.
