Annabeth POV
-
"Annabeth! Get up!" Thalia urged, shaking me awake.
As I blinked my eyes, I remembered two things. One, I'd fallen asleep laying against Percy, on the couch. Two, today we were going to Olympus to formally tell our parents about the engagement.
"Fine, but you're getting Percy up." I stood up, kissed Percy's cheek, and left for my bedroom.
After brushing my hair out, I decided to make an effort to look nice. After visiting Olympus, we were going to attend a high school reunion, and for both, I wanted to look my best.
Before making a larger effort with my hair, I chose an outfit and got dressed. Then I brushed my hair once more, to smooth the top down, and tried something new.
I returned to the living room, and was greeted with the shocked faces of my friends.
"Wow, Annabeth, you look great!" Thalia mused.
"YOUR HAIR!" Piper squealed.
My outfit consisted of a black, high waisted skirt, a black and white long-sleeved crew neck shirt, and La Canadienne black heeled boots. My hair was what was different. I'd pulled out the straightener I rarely used and used it on my typically curly blonde hair.
Percy had this shocked, amazed, and slightly confused expression, and was entirely speechless until Nico nudged him.
"Wow.. I mean, um... Wow."
I giggled at Percy's fail with words. But when he wrapped his arms around me and didn't let go, I knew he didn't need to speak.
I could feel what he meant.
-
"600th floor, please."
"Look, sweetheart, there's no 600th floor," the worker said in a rather bored tone as he placed an earbud back into his ear.
I yanked it back out. "And there's no chance I'll leave without telling your manager you're slacking off. Wouldn't want to lose this job because of some dumb ass mistake, would ya?"
His eyes went wide. "Alright, you can go, just don't tell anyone!"
As Percy and I left for the elevator, he called me back. "And if you lose the hair feathers, I wouldn't object to taking a fine girl like you out to dinner sometime."
"Nice try, asshole, but I'd sooner fling myself into the depths of the underworld again. Oh, and I'm telling your boss."
With that, I caught up with Percy and joined him on the elevator.
"What was that all about?"
"Oh, some genius mortal trying to flirt with me."
A look of worry crossed Percy's face.
"But trust me, I'll never choose anyone over you. There's absolutely no chance."
He smiled and grasped my hand as I leaned up against him.
-
"Annabeth!" my mother greeted me, smiling warmly.
"Mom!" I have her a hug. Although we didn't speak much, we were still family.
"So, you said you two had something to discuss with us," Poseidon began as the greetings died down.
"You're right, we did," Percy agreed. "Annabeth?"
"Nope, you're taking this one, Seaweed Brain."
Percy rolled his eyes, but spoke anyway.
"After our duet, we've spent a lot of time together. There were a few, um, complications with Hannah, and one thing led to another, and, um..."
I could see Percy start to falter, so I stepped in.
"What he's trying to say is that we came to tell you we're engaged," I declare, grabbing the hand Percy's left hand with my own left hand to show the rings, "and we're asking for your blessing."
"Well, Percy, you two seem perfect for each other, so you have my blessing," Poseidon smiled.
I glanced over to my mother.
"Annabeth, you know I don't approve of your relationship," she began. "But, since you two have come to tell us personally, and do seem happy together, I give you my blessing."
Percy pulled me into his arms immediately, holding me close to him. He picked me up by my waist and spun me around a few times before returning me to my feet and hugging me once more.
"We did it, Wise Girl!" Percy smiled. "We're getting married!"
As I stared into Percy's sea-green eyes through my gray, tear-filled ones, I could see the joy shining through them.

Sorry for the short chapter! After the CHB reunion, the high school reunion, and wedding, I might end this book. I'll try to make that take up a few more chapters, and I have a prequel that I plan to write anyway! Maybe I'll do a sequel too :)
Would you guys read a prequel, sequel, or both?
Do you think this story is coming to an end too quickly or just the right time?
Please answer both in the description :)
Thanks!
