Annabeth POV
-
A few weeks passed, nearly uneventful. Naturally, Percy and I encountered some crazed fans, took pictures, and signed autographs. We had a few more concerts, and wrapped up our tour by again performing at camp.
When we had arrived home, we immediately collapsed on the couch together and turned on a Harry Potter movie.
Now, we'd come to the day before the music awards. Percy and I were seated on our bed together, chatting.
"I can't wait for tomorrow!" I exclaimed.
"It's going to be my first awards," Percy admitted.
"Hey, don't worry, mine too. To be honest, I'm kind of nervous."
"It's going to be awesome, obviously, but still terrifying."
I leaned to the side and Percy pulled me close to him.
"At least we won't be alone," I stated. "We always have each other."
"As long as we're together," Percy whispered into my ear.
I allowed my eyes to shut, and before long, we'd both fallen asleep. Tomorrow was a big day for both of us, and I wanted to be next to Percy the whole way.

"Annabeth! Percy! Come on, we have to go!" Piper called from the doorway. I could sense she was using a bit of charmspeak to wake us, but I disregarded it and got up.
After dressing in a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt, I made my way into the kitchen. Percy was already there, and at my usual spot sat a plate of pancakes. But not just any pancakes.
Blue pancakes.
Horribly messy pancakes, but pancakes nonetheless.
As I sat down, the pancakes' aroma drifted up to my nose. "Oh my gods, Percy, this smells amazing!" I exclaimed.
"Thanks, I made them myself!" A grin spread across his face.
A slight laugh escaped my lips. "I can tell."
"Want some syrup?" Percy asked.
"Sure, Seaweed Brain."
He put the syrup on the counter, and immediately I began to drizzle the sugary substance onto the pancakes.
As I ate, I noticed Percy becoming more and more eager with every bite. I assumed he was just excited to see me enjoy the breakfast, so I thought nothing of it.
Suddenly, my teeth hit a hard object that was lodged into the pancake. After swallowing down the rest of the bite, I spit the item onto my plate.
When I realized what it was, I gasped. "Oh my gods..." I muttered.
In a giant puddle of syrup sat a platinum ring with a ruby set between two mini peridots. On the inside I found an engraving that read "As long as we're together, Wise Girl."
Tears filled my eyes. One trickled down my cheek as I glanced up from the ring. On the other side of the counter, Percy smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry it's not a very impressive way to do this, but... Annabeth, will you be my Wise Girl? Forever?"
Ignoring the fact that it was somewhat sticky from the syrup on the plate, I slid the ring onto my finger and stood up from the counter. As soon as I was on the other side of the counter, I threw my arms around Percy. "Of course, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?"
