I never thought I would....

Chapter 15

Alex's POV
It's been a week since Caiden had moved back in wth his parents and its actually been quite good. It means me and Caiden get to act more like a regular couple, instead of a married one. W get to be like every other high school couple... except for the openness. We had decided that we were going to wait a while before we came out; so we could figure everything out first.

My mum was still moping at the fact that Caiden had gone home, she already classed him as a son even though she'd not known him long, I liked it though. I knew I was fully accepted and now Caiden knew he was fully accepted by his family which I knew meant everything to him. Him and his dad are on much better terms and Caiden gets to see his brother a little bit more, sadly though Ayden is going off to college next year, meaning Caiden wouldn't get to see him that often.

Anyway of the topic of my boyfriend, its around 6.30 am on a Monday morning... oh the joy. I grumpily made my way to the bathroom. 15 minutes later I was freshly showered, teeth brushed and hair done. I pulled out a shirt and a pair of my jeans from my wardrobe. Not looking too special but hey its school not meeting the queen. I went downstairs to get some breakfast, if you were wondering why I'm up so early, its because I'm meeting Caiden for a bit before school. Since you know we cant show affection in school yet.

I left 10 minutes later and arrived at his door, sending him a quick text to let him know I was here. I waited for 10 minutes and nothing. I called him but it went straight to voice mail... He knew I was coming... we set it up last night, we were going to go to the park and spend sometime together... nothing special but we liked to go to the park together. I waited for another 20 minutes texting him every so often before I became bored. So turned around and headed back home, turning off my car and heading back inside. It was only half 7ish so I still had an hour before I was going to head school. I went back into my room and opened Facebook, scrolling through my feed to see if anything interesting was there... then I noticed a post from Caitlan; It read

"When you know a secret that could destroy peoples reputations so easily. When you have the upper hand on them and they cant do shit to you because you could ruin things for them." it had a few of those smirking emojis after it, immediately I knew it was aimed at me and Caid. This secret that she knew could potentially ruin things for us and it could also ruin Caiden reputation. I wondered if Caiden had seen this and that's why he had turned his phone off. I continued on too see if anyone else had posted anything interesting until it was time for me to leave for school. I headed out the door and tried Caiden's number it rang a couple times before he picked up. "Caiden? Do you want me to come get you?" he sighed before saying that he had already got a lift from JD then hung up on me... Not going to lie... it stung... a lot.

I pushed it to the back of my mind and headed to school. By the time I arrived the warning bell was just sounding meaning I had to keep my books in my bag until the end of second period when I could put them in my locker. Screw school.

Heading to my first class of the day; Biology. I love bio it's a great subject plus my teacher is amazing. Although this lesson I just couldn't focus enough, I was just worrying about Caid, what was running brought his head? When the bell rang I rushed out the room and headed to my second class which I happened to have with Caiden. But it also happened to be one of my least favourite lessons... P.E... kill me now.
I got to the locker rooms and walked around looking for one blonde boy in particular. When I spotted him I made my way over to him, before I got there JD nudged him and pointed Caid in my direction. He turned and looked at me; he almost looked bored. After he just turned away and walked off causing me to frown. JD and Connor were also frowning in my direction with a questioning look in their eyes I just shrugged and went to get ready. Hoping they didn't see the hurt written on my face.

Sport dragged. Like it felt like I'd been in their for hours not 20 minutes. Caiden icy glare had also found my line of sight, what is his problem? I'm gonna have to corner him.
Justin had been his usual quiet self, his eyes questioning, I just shook  my head at him before sighing and standing. I walked solemnly out of the canteen, slowly making my way down the corridor to my next class. Before I arrived a hand fell on my shoulder, hope spread through me thinking it could be Caiden, but I turned around and tried not to let my disappointment show as I can face to face with JD and Connor. "What's up with him? He's been moody as hell today?" JD asked. "Mate if I knew id tell you" I sighed out. What had upset him? Whatever it was didn't mean he had to be a prick to me and his best friends. I had a plan. "Tell him your coach wants to talk to him and take him to the locker rooms, when we get there come in and lock the doors behind you, we'll get it out of him then" They nodded and turned walking back to the canteen while I wandered down to the locker room. Not even five minutes later the three of them wandered through the door, JD subtly locked the door behind him and removed the key. "Where's coach?" Caiden asked his tone was void of emotions. "He's not here, we wanted to see what was up with you. You've been prickly towards us and you're boyfriend who I can see you being a dick is hurting him. especially since he doesn't know what's up with you. If you're not going to talk to us then at least talk to him mate" I looked around the corner to see JD and Conor with their backs to the door and facing my direction. Caiden sighed before sitting down and putting his head in his hands. I took this as my cue to walk over to him, I placed an arm around his shoulder and he leaned back into me. He knew it was me. "I'm sorry guys, I just got some pretty bad news this morning and it just pissed me off, I didn't mean to be so hostile towards any of you, especially you Alex." I didn't say anything and just held him tighter. He puled me forwards so I was sat in his lap, my knees at his hips and his head in my chest. "It's cool bro, but what happened? You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

He shook his head and said "It's about CC" and held me tighter. "You know when she went away for that trip with school? Well she failed to tell me about me about one very important detail about it" we all looked at him curiously even though he couldn't see our faces; "Some fuckers came to the hotel they were staying and opened fire, thank god she and none of the others got hurt but I mean I'm her twin. If she could tell anybody about it you'd think she'd tell me. It'd kill me if she got hurt. She told me last night when she came into my room saying that she was having nightmares. I obviously asked her about what and she said that she dreamt that her and her mates weren't able to get away. Obviously mum knew, I noticed shed gotten a little more protective of her since she'd got back. But how could they keep me in the dark about this?"

We were all shocked. "It's probably because it scares her to talk about it, you're mum would have known because the school would have called her and told her exactly what happened" Connor said sympathetically before he pulled JD towards us and joined in  on the hug. "I'm sorry guys, I love you all" I smiled and kissed his head before saying "We love you too"
